God, stop with the remakes already. RSE aren't even that old, and they're still compatible with the newer games. :/ Remakes are pointless here.

Re: Masuda to "consider" Ruby and Sapphire remakes: Game Freak director acknowledges

Ruby/Sapphire remakes on the 3DS to me means they can take advantage of StreetPass and SpotPass. It also makes managing friend codes less of a hassle.

R/S will be 10 years old next year. Time sure flies, eh?

SHAME ON YOU! We NEED R/S remakes! The franchise will DIE without them!!!

/sarcasm

Actually, I never cared for Gen III - R/S remakes don't excite me at all, I'd prefer to forget the originals were released in the first place. :-/

Not really. The DS is what, 5 years old? How long do most systems last?

And RSE are rare nowadays anyway. At GameStop, the GBA is a collecter's item, so you can't buy 'em there. At swap-meets (like the one I went to), you have the games that are old, abused, having the Berry Glitch. Online, you run the (high) risk of getting a bootleg.

None of the remakes were really needed, if players wanted all the Gen1-2 'Mons then GF could've stuffed 'em into Coloseum/XD rather than remake Gen1. Well, they didn't, so FR-LG were made with the addition of the Sevii Islands and their places filled with Gen2 'Mons and one of the Gerbils in the game. Add in XD, and you've got all the Gen2 'Mons sans Celebi, who is mostly an Event PKMN anyway. There, no need for G/S remakes. So why make them? Fan opinion, plus the Almighty Dollar (Yen in this case).

That's where R/S is headed right now. Too early to tell whether or not they're making them or not (fans can say yes/no all they want), but if GF wants money they'll do it.

Don't forget the updated Emerald Safari Zone after getting the National Dex and and all the ways to obtain Johto Pokemon in D/P/Pt (Pokeradar, Swarms, ones already in Regional Dex, ones added to Regional Dex in Platinum, etc.)

Re: Masuda to "consider" Ruby and Sapphire remakes: Game Freak director acknowledges

Why, why, why, why, why, why?!

There isn't anything to fix in R/S besides the physical/special split and nearly all Hoenn Pokemon are available in the Gen 4 games, so a remake is completely unnecessary. Acknowledging the fan demand means that a company will be going down the toilet, just like what happened to the Sonic fanbase.

Why? Because they get money out of it, plain and simple.

Uh, oh. The card game introduced this "Dark Rush" thing.

Groudon and Kyogre are on it...so, possible evidence?

Probably not, but it gives me some hope.

Those cards aren't even from the upcoming expansion; they're from Psycho Drive/Hail Blizzard. Groudon and Kyogre were paired in the TCG three times in the last generation, and that didn't mean anything.

Hope is one thing, but false hope is another.

1. GameStop doesn't sell GBA games anymore, other then RSE they just sat there, and took even longer to sell then the GB/C or Xbox 1 games, the last systems dumped.
2. You could get all the Johto Pokemon in Gen IV by trading with Gen 3 and the Cube games.
3. It's 9 years now, the same time between HGSS and GS.

R/S is nearly 9 years old in Japan and 8 years in the US. R/B were only around 6 years old when FR/LG were released in the US for comparison. R/S CANNOT communicate with B/W as well, only with Gen IV. Also alot of R/S is VERY outdated compared to newer games, not just with the Physical/Special Split, but the lack of WiFi due to being on the GBA.

Not only that but as much as I'd like to purchase a copy of Sapphire version now I don't think I'll get anywhere near close to buying it because of the dang prices I get shoved in my face:
Amazon.com: Pokemon Sapphire: Video Games

I prefer having a new copy for games since they always work the best, but Sapphire costs around $90 AND HIGHER for a new copy. A remake would cost only $35 like B/W AND have far more content as well from updated gameplay features to new Pokemon from modern games.

1. All of the ones I've visited do still sell used ones. Heck, they still sell used GB games.
2. Advance games are still playable on the DS Lite and are still on the forward-compatible end of the memory overhaul, and therefore aren't as outdated as GS.
3. Not everyone has played the Cube games or has a GC (or a 3DS, for that matter).
4. 9/10 years is a really short time for a remake of something classic that doesn't badly need updating. Like the new Spider-Man movie. It's just too soon.

By that logic, are we going to need another Kanto remake then?

I honestly think that there is nothing wrong with playing the older games and sending your Pokemon forward into the newer ones. The likelihood of them all being current and updated at the same time is very slim. And what happens when a 3DS-only game is released? A new system? Will we have to make remakes for the DS ones, because they don't all have the same features as the newer games?

1. Where do you live? They might still be lying there unsold, they stopped buying back used GBA games. Or it's not a gamestop.
2. DS Lites are no longer being made.
3. Cube games are BC with the Wii, plus everyone and their mom cloned so if you went on a chatroom/forum to ask, you could have them all legit.
4. Tell that to the sales chart.. 10 million. Of course it didn't sell as well after it came out due to the fact it's pricier then most DS games.
