1. All of the ones I've visited do still sell used ones. Heck, they still sell used GB games.
2. Advance games are still playable on the DS Lite and are still on the forward-compatible end of the memory overhaul, and therefore aren't as outdated as GS.
3. Not everyone has played the Cube games or has a GC (or a 3DS, for that matter).
4. 9/10 years is a really short time for a remake of something classic that doesn't badly need updating. Like the new Spider-Man movie. It's just too soon.

By that logic, are we going to need another Kanto remake then?

I honestly think that there is nothing wrong with playing the older games and sending your Pokemon forward into the newer ones. The likelihood of them all being current and updated at the same time is very slim. And what happens when a 3DS-only game is released? A new system? Will we have to make remakes for the DS ones, because they don't all have the same features as the newer games?

No. Kanto was already in HG/SS where it once again hogged all the attention that Johto rightfully deserved. Kanto has appeared in all four previous gens so far, first in R/B, then in G/S, again in FR/LG, and again in HG/SS, yet how often has Hoenn appeared? Only a single Generation so far, just like Sinnoh. Johto has also only appeared in a single Gen if you exclude HG/SS, and even then Kanto still appeared in two if you exclude remakes. All other regions other than Kanto in that case appeared only once. Does that seem fair for Kanto to be remade once again for the 5th Time in a row where no other Generation gets that same honor at all?

1. Where do you live? They might still be lying there unsold, they stopped buying back used GBA games. Or it's not a gamestop.
2. DS Lites are no longer being made.
3. Cube games are BC with the Wii, plus everyone and their mom cloned so if you went on a chatroom/forum to ask, you could have them all legit.
4. Tell that to the sales chart.. 10 million. Of course it didn't sell as well after it came out due to the fact it's pricier then most DS games.

I bought my Leaf Green from a GameStop last year. I said that they still SELL them.

DS Lites are no longer being made because they want people to buy the 3DS. Which I won't, because I think it sucks. Also, back to my other argument - not everyone has a Wii. Or an internet connection, for that matter. I didn't have wifi on my DS Lite until a couple of months ago.

Age in technology is not so much a matter of years as a matter of how many advancements have been made since its production. RSE still work with the newer games, the older ones do not. My point was that RBYGSC did need updating, but RSE don't.

I wouldn't count the first and second gens and their remakes to be four separate appearances of the same region, because the remakes are REMAKES. If they took Kanto out of HG/SS, it wouldn't be a remake, it would be an entirely different game. Also, what's wrong with a region appearing only once? You spend the whole game running around the entirety of that region, and you haven't gotten enough of it yet?

Ugh, whatever. They're either going to do it or they won't. The point of this was to say that I don't agree with the remakes, and I'm not going to buy them if they do end up making them because it's just way too much. I'm not saying that Gamefreak didn't do a great job updating HG/SS, but I'm tired of spending money to play through the same games/regions over and over again. However, some people still will, so it all comes down to whether or not GameFreak wants the money.

Re: Masuda to "consider" Ruby and Sapphire remakes: Game Freak director acknowledges

Besides, the Sonic games got better once Sega acknowledged the fanbase, they fixed Sonic 4 and made Colors and Generations for da fans.

Sonic hasn't been good since sonic heroes, and even that wasn't that great. Alot of people say sonic just doesn't translate well to a 3d form to which I say the first two 3d games were the best. So why does it suck now? Because they keep making homages to those rather than actually looking at what those games were. I can guarantee you that Generations will suck and that Colors won't even resemble Sonic. If Colors is a hit then sonic will become the next kirby forgetting why it even exists and just being used as the spitballing gimmick series.

Up until they created the new Hedgehog engine, which was a success and now became a staple for future 3D Sonic games, and the series has always been centered around gimmicks since the marketing for Blast Processing. Also, Kirby Canvas Curse says hi.

What about Hulk? The movie was released in 2003 and got a reboot in 2008.

A reboot with a totally new story is not the same thing as a remake of an existing story and you know it.

R/S remake. Coming 2012. Good or Bad, it's coming.

That might be nice, but it isnt confirmed, theres no evidence we will get a remake then, even though R/S will be 10 years old in Japan.

If it isn't announced by December odds are it might be announced in March and be released in September. As is typical of the games... so They can still be out in 2012

It's likely that whatever main series game comes next will be announced next March. However, that may be Gray, or it might be Beige for all we know.

Yeah there is a 50/50 chance of Either MR/AS or Grey being announced so we can still get the remakes in 2012

MagmaRuby & AquaSapphire? I'd prefer Terra, but whatevs.

Anyway, I'd rather see the remakes before the inevitable Gray.

God, stop with the remakes already. RSE aren't even that old, and they're still compatible with the newer games. :/ Remakes are pointless here.

Yes, 9 years isn't long at all. ._. I say it's about time. Kanto needs to go die, or at least keep it's stage-hogging region OUT of the spotlight for at least ONE generation. It is not that much to ask. OTL

Edit: The name MUST be EternalRuby, and ForeverSapphire. oAo I can't remember who suggested those names, but those are PERFECT. I can't imagine possible RSEmakes being named anything else. 8D;

That wasn't really a remake. The first one was just to make a movie out of the story. The 2008 one was rebooting the franchise to tie in with the current Avengers storyline spanning across all Marvel movies.

Read what I said about the age of technology and the regions. :/

Well, they could announce anything to come next really. Although it's likely to be Grey or RS3DS, we can't really say something as concrete as a 50-50 chance.

Also, PokéBeach did point out that Masuda said he wasn't allowed to comment when someone spoke about Grey; so I'd say it's more likely that that's next.

I've read your argument and quite frankly it fails so hard... for your thing to work everybody has to get a DSp/l which aren'tbeing made! sp the VAST majordy of people won't have it because they have either a DSi or 3DS which can't PLAY GBA games... your argument makes no sense people aren't going to by a outdated system to play a 10 year old game...

Watch Nintendo recognise that by releasing them on the 3DS' Virtual Console =3

Not going to happen... I doubt any Pokemon games are goibg to be on the VC due to the fact that VC games can't trade... there is less then a .00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001% chance of them being on the VC plus why remake G/S bu tnot R/S?

Here continues the arguments for or against remakes....

Just consider GF piling up generations VI, VII and VIII and having to have each and every one of their 8 games/regions playable on the latest/second-latest console every new/other console and/or every new/other generation. It doesn't work out.
So if Hoenn miss out on the night/day shifts, the physical/special split or whatever. GF eventually has to leave games to the past, like most companies do.

your argument makes no sense people aren't going to by a outdated system to play a 10 year old game...

And who really is more interested in remakes of R/S than in new games?

Ok. I grew up with G/S. Those are nostalgia for me. I haven't played R/S but I'm aware they're the first games for many people here. Does this mean they have to be treated the same? R/G/B's the classic, G/S can't save as the battery is dead after about 7 years. R/S is pretty much "simply outdated" here, with not much else going for it.

Because nobody had a DS before the DSi came out.
