Here continues the arguments for or against remakes....

Just consider GF piling up generations VI, VII and VIII and having to have each and every one of their 8 games/regions playable on the latest/second-latest console every new/other console and/or every new/other generation. It doesn't work out.
So if Hoenn miss out on the night/day shifts, the physical/special split or whatever. GF eventually has to leave games to the past, like most companies do.

And who really is more interested in remakes of R/S than in new games?

Ok. I grew up with G/S. Those are nostalgia for me. I haven't played R/S but I'm aware they're the first games for many people here. Does this mean they have to be treated the same? R/G/B's the classic, G/S can't save as the battery is dead after about 7 years. R/S is pretty much "simply outdated" here, with not much else going for it.

Outated battery issues CAN'T BE PLAYED ON THE CURRENT HANDHELD!!! yeah it would be unfair and fucking hyopocritcal R/S is as classic as G/S R/B/G/Y it's almost 10 years old Johto didn't NEED to be remade but it was. Hoenn can't be played on the DSi or 3DS and are very rare now... Leave Sinnoh or Kanto they are playable but don't eave out Hoenn to be forgotten

And yeah lets forget the people who NEVER HAD A DS! your argument reeks of failure and has been beaten several times already

Re: Masuda to "consider" Ruby and Sapphire remakes: Game Freak director acknowledges

Not going to happen... I doubt any Pokemon games are goibg to be on the VC due to the fact that VC games can't trade... there is less then a .00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001% chance of them being on the VC plus why remake G/S bu tnot R/S?
As I said earlier in the thread, the report that stated that Gameboy Advance games wouldn't have wireless capabilities was fake. Besides, Mario Kart Super Circuit is a confirmed Ambassador title; and why the hell would they release a Mario Kart game if there was single player only?

I still like PassionRuby and HonestSapphire. (Thanks, Joshawott, I think.)
iirc, I was more a fan of SincereSapphire, due to the alliteration. Iirc, @Purim came up with the name (which was only a slight change from @myself 's "HonestySapphire").

I had the idea of TerraRuby and SeaSapphire for names as soon as the idea of remakes was going around so fast, but the latter sounds too much like SoulSilver but had a better sound to it than AquaSapphire or something like that.

Still... Why put it on VC? That is a total waste and if they do... why remake Johto? Hoenn desevres to be remade as much as Johto ever did... And is the names of the GBA VC out? Pokemom Pinball might be the only one to be on the VC llist I can;'t see a main Pokemon game on it...

Why put in on the VC? Because they will still make a buttload money from it, and it's less effort.

Why was Johto remade? Because the 3DS wasn't out then, so they couldn't port it; and even if it was, the coding for Gen I/II and Gen III onwards is entirely different. At least with a Gen III port, it could still be compatible with recent releases.

"Names of the GBA VC?" Well, it's the 3DS' Virtual Console. The only GBA games that we currently know of as being on the console are:
Yoshi's Island: Super Mario™ Advance 3
Mario Kart: Super Circuit
Metroid Fusion
WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$
Mario vs. Donkey Kong

?because it might bomb on the VC? They will get A LOT more money if they fully remake it easily 10x's more then the VC because it'll be full priced and odds are high it well be over a million seller. so maybe a few 1000 from the VC to a few hundred million remade? plus Remakes are the easist games too do besides 3rd Version

How would it "bomb on the VC"? If anything, because it would lack the need for physical manufacturing and distribution, it would be much cheaper, and thus, attract more customers. Currently, the most expensive game on the Nintendo eShop is Shantae: Risky's Revenge, which is £10.80 - all other games are £1.80, £2.70, £4.50, £5.40 or £7.20. Nintendo would probably charge £7.20 or £10.20 for a main series Pokémon game, and that will look a lot more attractive to a consumer than £39.99 (the RRP for a 3DS game).

There's no statistical data to show that it would sell less if it was a physical release or digital release; so all of your assumptions there are baseless.

I fail to see how a shitty VC lazy damn product will be more attractive then a new game... I'd lose faith in GF if they do that... it's a stupid idea the worst idea ever... I just don't see them putting a main pokemon game on the VC

Because it's possible people won't buy it? IT'd actually be the reverse really... It wouldn't sell half as well as it would as a full game... I doubt GF would be so lazy to but it on the VC then it be a disator... It'd be a massive waste and if they do that they should demand all HG/SS bacl and burn them... it isn't fair to remake G/S and not R/S....
It's also possible people won't buy a physical release if they see it in a store. Give me certified proof that a digital release wouldn't sell as much as a physical release.

Also, "Demand all HG/SS back and burn them?" No need to be so dramatic xD And "Not Fair?" - this isn't letting each kid play in a football game, this is business. If GameFreak can make money in a way that requires less effort and financial risk, then they will - especially in the current climate.

Sure, I'd also prefer a full on remake, but if they were to only release the games on the 3DS Virtual Console, I'd still be pretty darn happy about it.

Then do a NON MAINB GAME!!! not a main game like R/S which deserves to be remade VC R/S is lazy stupid and not worth buying... it's just lazy ass then... why not release all the fucking pokemon games on VC then?

Why would they not release a main series game? A main series game would earn them a lot more money than if they released Pokémon Trading Card Game or Pokémon Pinball. Also, how wouldn't a VC port not be worth buying? Considering it would be the exact same game as the original, that's like saying Ruby/Sapphire weren't worth buying.

As for putting all the games on the virtual console. I admit, I was surprised at how Red/Blue weren't released on the VC to support the franchise's 15th anniversary, and the launch of the 3DS. However, as the vast majority of Gameboy games currently on the Virtual Console weren't released before 1994, I'd imagine that Nintendo are going through the Gameboy titles somewhat chronologically (The only exception being Game & Watch Gallery which was released in 1997; but other Game & Watch titles were already on the DSiWare store).

IF R/B and G/C weren;t on the VC I highly doubt R/S will.

Except that when the R/B and G/S remakes were made, there was no Virtual Console for Gameboy titles. This time it's different, because we know the Nintendo 3DS can have Gameboy Advance titles in its Virtual Console.

Also, there's the issue of compatability. As I said earlier (which you conveniently ignored), the way Pokémon are programmed in Gen I and II is vastly different to Gen III onwards. With Generation III, there's no such compatability issue, so I'm sure Nintendo/Game Freak could program a Virtual Console release to be detected by the PokéShifter as being a game in the card slot to allow transfering to Generation V.

I don't get it... if they haven't put a Main Pokemon game on the VC I doubt they'd do it with R/S...

All because Red and Blue haven't been released on the Virtual Console yet doesn't mean they won't be. After all, the only Gameboy Virtual Console title at the moment that was released after 1995 is Game & Watch Gallery (1997). Considering the majority of Virtual Console games were originally released around 1989-1992 it's highly likely that Nintendo are releasing the games in a rough chronological order.

Also, there's the compatibility issues I edited into my previous post.

And why is that, aside from your personal desire to see a 'proper' remake?

Come on, it would be incredibly stupid for Nintendo to have a Virtual Console for the Gameboy and Gameboy Advance and not have each of those consoles' best selling titles on there at some point.
