Mattel to release MEGA construction set featuring Ash and Pikachu for Pokémon Day

The Pokémon Company International and Mattel announced today the newest addition to the MEGA construction toy line, Pokémon Ash & Pikachu: Path to Victory. The 1,646-brick set is scheduled to release on February 27th, in celebration of Pokémon Day 2024. Ash, who is the first buildable Pokémon Trainer by MEGA, will stand 12.9 inches tall when built. He and Pikachu are fully articulated and meant to be super poseable; Ash’s iconic cap can even be spun backwards to mimic his battle-ready stance in the Pokémon the Series anime.

Mattel’s MEGA brand is no stranger to Pokémon, with dozens of sets currently in production and their MEGA Forest Pokémon Center being nominated for a 2023 Toy of the Year® Award. Pikachu and Ash will each come with three interchangeable face pieces to change their expressions, as well as a display base and four brick-build props; a trophy, Ash’s Pokédex, a Poké Ball, and a Potion. The trophy is similar to the Winner's Trophy Ash receives after winning the Orange League in the 1999 episode "Enter the Dragonite." The Ash & Pikachu: Path to Victory set will be available exclusively at the Mattel Creations online store and retails for $129.99 USD.
