Following on from campaigns in North America and the UK earlier this year, Australian Pokéfans will now have the opportunity to experience the disappointment of scalpers, investors, and thieves ruining the fun for everyone else (and especially the kids), with Macca's planning to launch their 25th Anniversary Pokémon collaboration here Down Under.

The 2021 McDonald's Collection set of Pokémon cards features 25 cards reprinting all feature starter Pokémon from various Pokémon TCG expansions from the Black & White, XY, Sun & Moon, and Sword & Shield Series in both Non Holofoil and Confetti Holofoil versions, for a total of 50 cards in the set. Each card retains its original layout, with the 25th Anniversary logo in the bottom right corner of the card's artwork. Each meal includes one pack of four random cards, with one card per pack being a Confetti Holo. Rampant scalping of these cards in the US promotion infamously led to McDonald's being forced to issue a rare public statement responding to the shortages, and even having to offer customers "back-up" toys where stocks had run out. If that does occur, we're expecting those back-up toys to be leftovers from the Space Jam: A New Legacy promotion that McDonald's Australia is currently running.

On top of the cards, fans will also receive an additional toy item. From the description given on the website, it appears these are similar to the ones included with the US Happy Meals, which included Pokémon TCG card boxes, Pokémon TCG display frames, and sticker activity sets.

While no start date for the promotion has yet been given by McDonald's Australia, that it's been listed on their website would imply that we should see it soon, most likely early in August.
