Mafia Mentor Mafia Game: Rainbow Rocket Strikes Back - Endgame

mostly inactive, tries to be active by skim reading, then says things that dont quite make sense. Im mostly seeing confusion tbh. But there is a lot of affirming Zorchic lately. Theres also a few things like the misinterpreting bussing and "town being weak", it almost sounds like a language barrier. Im still leaning snake to be mafia over agent, just because agent has attempted to be more active since being called out. Snake mostly popped in to say they were the miller and something yesterday about most people seeming townie and thats it. At any rate, not participating doesnt help us as much as talking and pointing out what you see.

Endgame: Getting Cold Feet

When the remaining people awoke the following morning, they discovered that the girl in the roller skates had been killed.
"This is truly a tragedy," said the green haired man.
"Yes," agreed the blue haired man, "but at least now we know someone who is guilty."
"And who is that?" asked the woman wearing leaves.
"Him," accused the blue haired man, pointing to the masked man.

"What's your evidence?" asked the green haired man.
"First, he's been generally very quiet, and tends to lurk in the background, never committing to much of anything," explained the blue haired man, "and, being an Ice type specialist, he's had a reason to eliminate the Rock and Fighting type specialists, while keeping the Grass and Dragon specialists around, for easy pickings."
The gray haired man nodded, thoughtfully.
"That actually makes a lot of sense," he said, "and, as I recall it, one of Giovanni's associates does have a tendency to freeze entire cities."

"...no," said the masked man, "this is a mistake. I am not your enemy."
"AH HA!" shouted the woman wearing a leaf dress, enthusiastically, "that's exactly what someone who was our enemy would say!"

The masked man just sweatdropped at the incredibly flimsy statement.
"I cannot allow you to eliminate me," he said, "it would put our enemies in the perfect position to defeat the rest of you."

"You don't have much of a choice, now do you?" asked the man in the black uniform, sending out his Persian.
"...very well," said the masked man, "but I shall not lose. Go, Cryogonal!"

The masked man sent out a gigantic predatory snowflake with a mustache.
"Persian, use Fake Out!" exclaimed the man in the black uniform.
Instantly, the Persian leapt out and slashed the snowflake, causing it to flinch.
It shook off the damage fairly easily.
"Cryogonal, Frost Breath!" said the masked man.

The snowflake emitted a freezing wave of energy from its mouth, freezing the Persian in place.

"You will not find me as easy to defeat as the others," stated the masked man, taking a fighting stance and charging at the man in the black uniform.

As the snowflake continued to freeze the Persian, the masked man and the gray haired man exchanged blows.
The masked man sent out a right hook, but the man in the black uniform blocked it by deflecting the blow with his left arm. He then grabbed the masked man's right arm and threw him over his head.
The masked man quickly flipped midair and landed on his feet, lashing out with a quick jab. The blow connected, and the gray haired man stumbled backwards. The masked man pressed his advantage and lashed out at the scarred man with a volley of kicks and punches. The man in the black uniform was forced on the defensive, trying to deflect or dodge as many of the attacks as he could.

Suddenly, a ghostly form emerged from the shadows and attacked the Cryogonal, landing a devastating Outrage. Cryogonal began spinning mid air, as the Persian broke free from the ice and hit it with a Power Gem blast from the gem on its forehead, causing it to immediately faint.
The commotion distracted the masked man, who let up from the assault for just a moment, as his partner fainted. It was just the opportunity that the man in the black uniform was looking for. He lashed out with a low sweep and knocked the masked man off his feet.
The ice specialist landed on his butt with a thud.
The man in the black uniform barely took a moment to nod in appreciation to the man in the spacesuit for his timely assistance, before pinning the masked man to the ground.
"No!" protested the masked man, "you must not do this! It will be the end of everything!"

His protests rang hollow, and the gray haired man once again claimed another victim.

Cryogonal, the Ice-type Crystallizing Pokemon
They are born in snow clouds. They use chains made of ice crystals to capture prey. When its body temperature goes up, it turns into steam and vanishes. When its temperature lowers, it returns to ice.
A former movie star, Bycen retired when he injured himself while doing his own stunts, while he was vulnerable and lost, he got advice from a friend and started on his path as a trainer. After training for many years in an icy cave, he returned as a stronger man, soon taking on the title of Gym Leader, a position that he enjoys, though sometimes he still misses the acting life...

Because of your ability to freeze surfaces and make them slippery, under the guidance of your trainer, you are a Bus Driver. The purpose of a Bus Driver is to swap two players at night, making anyone who would visit one player, instead visit the other player and vice versa. Each night you can swap two players, including yourself by saying Swap: [Player] & [PLAYER] in your Role PM during the Night Phase.
(For example you target Player A & Player B to swap them, if the Mafia went to kill Player A, they would instead kill Player B, because they were swapped around)

You are Town and win when all threats to you have been wiped out. Your Mentor will win if you do.

Epilogue: Resistance Is Futile

The gray haired man in the black uniform stepped back from Brycen's body, shocked and aghast at what he had done.

With this final murder, the blue haired man and the green haired man had finally whittled down the resistance enough to reveal themselves. Not that it actually mattered at this point, since the two remaining resistance members figured it out, too little, too late.

"Y-you!" said the man with the facial scars, "it was you two all along!"
"Yes, I'm afraid so," said the green haired man with the robotic eye, "my associate and I were just biding our time while you single handedly took out so many of your own people. It was actually very amusing to watch."
"No!" exclaimed the man in the black uniform, "I won't let it end this way! I can defeat you!"
"You mean we can defeat them," said the woman in the leaf outfit, "this isn't over yet."

"Oh, but I think it is," said the blue haired man in the spacesuit, "you two are no match for our superior Pokemon."
"We'll just see about that!" said the woman wearing leaves, defiantly, "go, Roserade!"

The Grass/Fairy type Pokemon appeared in a dazzling display of leaves and magical sparkles.

"Persian, let's go!" shouted the man in the black uniform, sending out his black cat with the cartoonish face.

"Let's end this," said the green haired man, "Kyurem, come forth and freeze them all!"
A gray dragon with icy blue wings emerged from its Ultra Ball.

"I grow weary of this pointless strife," said the blue haired man, "Giratina will finish this."
A spectral dragon with six almost skeletal wings and a gray, red, and black striped body popped out of its Dusk Ball.

"Roserade, use Moonblast!" shouted the woman wearing leaves.

The masked plant fired off a beam of pure magical energy at Giratina.

"Giratina, Shadow Force!"

The skeletal dragon disappeared into the shadows, causing the Moonblast to miss.

"Kyurem use Blizzard!"

The icy dragon opened its maw to spew icy cold wind at the Roserade.

"Persian, Fake Out!"

Before Kyurem could finish its move, the Persian leapt out and struck it, causing it to flinch.

"Nice work!" said the woman in the leaf outfit, "now, Roserade, Moonblast!"

Once again, the masked Pokemon prepared to fire off a mystical energy beam, this time at Kyurem, but Giratina re-emerged from the shadows and lashed out at Roserade, causing her attack to miss.
"Persian, Dark Pulse!" ordered the man in the black uniform, as Roserade struggled to shake off the ghostly dragon's assault.

The black cat sent out a wave of pure dark energy at the Giratina, who dodged it by disappearing back into the shadows.

"Man, I am getting so sick of that," grumbled the woman wearing the dress made of leaves.

Meanwhile, Kyurem had shrugged off the Persian's sneak attack, and opened its maw, unleashing a blizzard, straight at the Roserade, who was just getting to her feet. She was engulfed in the cold and icy winds, and froze instantly.

"Giratina, finish this with Aura Sphere," ordered the blue haired man.

The ghostly dragon emerged from the shadows, right behind the Persian, and launched an energy blast of pure fighting energy at the black cat. Despite her best efforts, the Persian just wasn't fast enough to dodge the attack, and was hit, immediately fainting.

"It's over," said the green haired man, his robotic eye gleaming evilly, "now, let's finish them off."

He pulled a sword out of his walking stick and approached the man in the black uniform and the woman in the leaf dress, laughing wickedly.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Giovanni and Mewtwo stood over the bodies. Grimsley, Morty, Gordie, Roxanne, Blue, Korrina, Brycen, Gardenia, and Nanu were all dead.
Only Ghetsis and Cyrus remained alive, though they were completely braindead to the world and trapped in a psychic hallucination.

Ghetsis laughed evilly in his psychically induced sleep, obviously enjoying his vivid hallucinogenic dream state.

Giovanni smirked, as, through his mental link with Mewtwo, he had seen the entire situation unfold, and was able to process all of the information as Mewtwo drained it from Ghetsis' and Cyrus' minds.
"As if I would have ever actually agreed to make this some kind of game," scoffed the Rocket Boss, "why should I put everything I have achieved up for grabs, when there is nothing to be gained from it except for an untimely death?"
He looked at Ghetsis' comatose body.
"Your ploy to get me killed was immensely transparent, though, I must admit that it made it easier for me to betray you," said the mafioso.
He turned to Cyrus, whose expression was as blank and emotionless as it was when he was awake.
"And as for you, while you had no intentions to overthrow me and claim my empire, I was well aware of your intentions to rewrite all of creation. I was prepared for this encounter, gentlemen. You, apparently, were not."

He bent down to pick up Ghetsis' Ultra Ball and Cyrus' Dusk Ball. Kyurem and Giratina were now his. What's more, from their memories, he had gained the knowledge of Ghetsis' DNA Splicers and Cyrus' Red Chain. Now, with the power of their Pokemon, and the knowledge of genetic engineering and knowledge on the fundamental building blocks of reality, combined with the knowledge of temporal mechanics and Ultra Beasts that he had obtained from the Aether Foundation, he could move forward with his true plans. Remaking reality in his image.

Why should Cyrus get to decide what the multiverse should look like? He, Giovanni, was the true superior force in all of reality, and now, he would cement his place and claim his godhood. Nothing could stop him now!

Mewtwo, having finished draining Ghetsis' and Cyrus' brains, shut them off completely on the way out, killing the two former team bosses.
"Gentlemen," said Giovanni, returning Mewtwo to its Master Ball and walking away, "it's been a pleasure."

Roserade, the Grass/Poison-type Bouquet Pokemon
After captivating opponents with its sweet scent, it lashes them with its thorny whips. The poison in its right hand is quick acting. The poison in its left hand is slow acting. Both are life threatening.
Oftentimes found in Eterna Forest, Gardenia loves exploring and spending all her time in the forest with her favourite Grass Pokemon, though she knows to stay away from the Old Chateau, which is said to be haunted by ghosts, which she is afraid of. When she’s not out exploring the forest, she can be found in her gym, getting ready for her next gym challenger to beat using her trusty Roserade.

Alolan Persian, the Dark-type Classy Cat Pokemon
The round face of Alolan Persian is considered to be a symbol of prosperity in the Alola region, so these Pokémon are very well cared for. This Pokémon is one tough opponent. Not only does it have formidable physical abilities, but it's also not above fighting dirty.
Retired member of the International Police, Nanu spends his retirement in Alola, enjoying his free time where he acts as Island Kahuna for Ula’ula Island. He manages to keep Team Skull in check from causing island residents too much trouble from them and assists other residents with any problems they might have. Though he might seem shifty, he is actually kind at heart though he doesn’t like showing others this side...

Kyurem, the Dragon/Ice-type Boundary Pokemon
Dwelling within it is a power even greater than that of Reshiram or Zekrom, but the extreme cold keeps that power bound. It appears that this Pokémon uses its powers over ice to freeze its own body in order to stabilize its cellular structure.
The cold hearted, unforgiving former leader of Team Plasma, Ghetsis, is now working under Giovanni of Team Rainbow Rocket in an attempt to usurp the power out from under him, but for the time being is playing nice. After discarding N who he considered a “freak”, he came across Giovanni who convinced him to join sides to take down any who oppose them. With Kyurem at his side, which he gained by freezing all of Unova from his own world, he left it behind to liberate Pokemon from those who he considers not worthy of them...

The emotionless former leader of Team Galactic, Cyrus, now working with Giovanni under the impression that he will lead him to his perfect world. After finding his way to the Distortion World in his own universe, he discovered it wasn’t what he sought after all and his efforts had been wasted, he did however find a strong Pokemon there, Giratina and took control of its power for his own. Less mafia mentors. I think three mentors for the mafia team was perhaps too much. I mean, I understand it from a mechanics standpoint, but i think it might have been just a bit too much.

nice, great game, everyone!

Absolutely heartbreaking, since I got to see a bunch of my favorite characters die. 10/10.

How was the hosting? (eg. were the phases on time, were updates correct, etc.)
It was great.

What was your favourite part (eg. something funny or cool that happened)?
Dying to a bomb, since I'm sure none of us were expecting it to happen. Mafia chat was also fun to read after I died, since there was a bit of confusion going on with what the others were supposed to be posting.
Did you enjoy working together as a player / mentor?
Yes! I learned a lot about how to strategize as mafia, and about some interesting bus driver mechanics.
Did you enjoy your role, and did you like how the Role PM was written?
Godfather isn't the most interesting of roles, but I did enjoy being mafia for the first time.

How did you hear about the game? (eg, Banner at the top of the forums, Discord, From a friend)
Someone mentioned starting a mentor game in the forums, so I've been waiting for it ever since it was added to the game queue.

Do you think you’ll be interested in playing more games here in The War Room after this game? Why / why not?
Yes! The community here is pretty chill and friendly, so it'd be nice to do so.

AwesoME as always.

Felly being killed again and again was funny in an evil way.

Yes. I had a good time.

Mentor Questions
Do you think the game was balanced and fair?

I think it was fair and well-balanced.

Would you consider being a mentor for any future mentor games?
Sure :wynaut:

Do you think this was a good way of introducing new players?
Yes. Mentor games are really helpful for the new players to understand the game and also for the older players by learning new viewpoints from the mentees and refreshing their skills.

What would you have changed in the game? (Be it setup, execution, mentoring)
Nothing comes to mind

Overall it was a really good game. Hope all the players enjoyed it and will be willing to join more games here.

Congrats Mafia and Dawning Winds. GG Town. I think you all played a good game.

Just noticed, but damn, mafia got super lucky N2 with that roleblock

Did you have fun?

Eh, I guess, kinda. To be honest I found myself struggling to have motivation to keep up with a game that I myself wasn't playing.

How was the flavour text? (The story in the phase updates)
As always, ME's FT was impeccably written.

How was the hosting? (eg. were the phases on time, were updates correct, etc.)
I feel like you did pretty well. One or two mistakes, but nothing that broke the game.

What was your favourite part (eg. something funny or cool that happened)?
The Curse Of Felly

Did you enjoy working together as a player / mentor?
I'll be honest, I was a bad mentor. I wasn't around nearly as much as I should have been and didn't give a whole lot of helpful advice.

Mentor
Do you think the game was balanced and fair?

I'm personally not the biggest fan of the fact that the game could've been over by N1 (vig, JOAT vig, Bus Driver). This was a game that's supposed to help newer players get into the game, and having it be able to end before D2 even starts (as insanely unlikely as that would be) wouldn't be too helpful for them.

Would you consider being a mentor for any future mentor games?
Maybe, if I felt like I could kick myself into getting actually involved more.

Do you think this was a good way of introducing new players?
I reckon this was a great idea. One of the best ways to learn is by doing, and having an experienced player around to give advice helps put them on the right track for games.

What would you have changed in the game? (Be it setup, execution, mentoring)
Cut out one of the killers/the Bus Driver (I'd personally go for killing the Bus Driver because I hate those), or add another piece of protection to nerf them a tad. The first option would probably be better though, excessive protection can kinda go nuts and get away from you.

So...who wants to see the "secret ending?"
Absolutely

Suddenly, a temporal portal appeared behind Giovanni. The maelstrom was so powerful that it engulfed all of the dead bodies into its howling winds. Out from the temporal whirlwind moonwalked the strangest figure that the Rocket Boss had ever seen. It was a tall and lanky man wearing black high heeled boots with yellow stripes and a pair of dark blue bell bottom pants with a snazzy belt that had a star as its buckle. He had a matching blue shirt that was left completely open, exposing his scrawny chest. For accessories, the man had a black glove on his right hand, wore a gold scarf around his neck, a pair of flashy disco ball earrings, and was wearing a pair of dark sunglasses. But none of that was even his most remarkable feature. This man's hair was huge. It was a large and poofy afro. The right side of the afro was colored red, and the left side was white, making it resemble a Poke Ball turned on its side.

"Fuhohoho," laughed the strange man, "not so fast, Giovanni. You may have defeated all them other cats, but now you'll face off against the legendary dance master himself, the glorious Miror B. Let's see if you can keep up with my tempo and fancy footwork, little man. Let the music play!"

General Questions
Did you have fun?
YES (maybe too much....)
How was the flavor text? (The story in the phase updates)
I liked it, it was fun seeing myself and guessing who others were
How was the hosting? (eg. were the phases on time, were updates correct, etc.)
I'd give it a 4.5/5 just cause the role order thing was a mess and I feel like it could've been communicated better/earlier (given it was a beginner game)
What was your favorite part (eg. something funny or cool that happened)?
When we learned Zorchic was the bus driver AGAIN and all got confused, its funny in hindsight. Also that I accidentally participated in a meme of offing Felly that I didn't know existed. Also now that the game is over I can post something from my mentor, right?
Agent. I would suggest saying That you’re confused and you need to re read. Toss an unvote in if you haven’t.
Unvote: Zorchic

Zorchic, I think you're a bit confused and you need to re-read
This had me ROLLING :ROFLMAO:
Did you enjoy working together as a player / mentor?
Very much! Since I was mafia we already had each other to talk to, but sometimes its really nice to have someone to bounce ideas off of. Speaking of, I'm new to this forums thing, is there a way to make a message with just yourself? Itd be so handy to do that if I was town with no one to bounce ideas off of. If not, if the role PM could act as such maybe? I know that trying to make coherent thoughts first makes it easier for me to put it into an argument in the main thread.
Player Questions
Did you enjoy your role, and did you like how the Role PM was written?
I did enjoy it, but after learning that I was blocking random people I liked it a bit less:bulbaFacepalm:. All the role PMs made sense as they were revealed so I think the descriptions/characters were perf.
How did you hear about the game? (eg, Banner at the top of the forums, Discord, From a friend)
Its all @ZinnLav 's fault
Do you think you’ll be interested in playing more games here in The War Room after this game? Why / why not?
This definitely made me feel more confident about playing mafia on the forums, but I dont know if I will, just because itll likely have Paris and my other friends in it and I dont want them to hate me too much/think im always mafia cause I fooled them too good

Mentor Questions
Do you think the game was balanced and fair?
Not a mentor but that was one OP bus driver imo if I could block myself from taking a shot

Day 4 Votals:
Zorchic II - jamiebearcub, Parissong
Parissong I - Zorchic

They were the Bus Driver
Their mentor was HumanDawn

Mafia has won the game
Congrats to everyone!
General Questions
Did you have fun?
Yes, although a game can be kind of slow or no fun if not many people are interacting.
How was the flavour text? (The story in the phase updates)
Very entertaining, good work. :D
How was the hosting? (eg. were the phases on time, were updates correct, etc.)
Pretty decent, I noticed on Day 3 / Night 3 it took awhile for the story phases to be added which is understandable since mafia games are unpredictable.
What was your favourite part (eg. something funny or cool that happened)?
Felly filling in and joining twice only to be killed off again was kind of amusing, poor guy couldn't catch a break at all.
Did you enjoy working together as a player / mentor?
I did, thanks again TheCapsFan for helping me learn the game!
Player Questions
Did you enjoy your role, and did you like how the Role PM was written?
Double yes
How did you hear about the game? (eg, Banner at the top of the forums, Discord, From a friend)
ZinnLav, we were discussing games and got to the topic of Mafia, they encouraged me to join the Mentor Mafia so I could learn how to play the game. Glad I did since I had a lot of fun despite not being alive for too many days.
Do you think you’ll be interested in playing more games here in The War Room after this game? Why / why not?
Absolutely. They are fun and it's nice to play a forum game from time to time.
Would you consider being a mentor for any future mentor games?
Once I have a better idea of how to play various roles, yes please.
Do you think this was a good way of introducing new players?
Yes.
