Rules:
Only Wallace, Steven, Lance and Iris apply. Alder is implied to be a Bug-type specialist, but he never outright states this, so he can be optional.
Only Pokémon from their regional Dexes. Pokémon they've used in battles (Champion battles, PWT battles, Gym battles, etc.) are preferred, but not mandatory.
Additions can be made that are not of their specialty types, but for good reasons.

Lance:
Kingdra is added, since it's the only other fully-evolved Dragon-type of the first two generations.
Tyranitar is added, since it's based off of the dinosaur-based Godzilla, as are all dragons (dragons have been proven to be inspired by dinosaur fossils found by ancient cultures).
Aerodactyl
Gyarados
Charizard
Dragonite

Wallace:
Luvdisc, as useless a Pokémon for as useless a Champion. Also, Elizabeth the Luvdisc is one of his signature Pokémon in the Pokémon Adventures manga.
Wailord
Whiscash
Gyarados
Walrein, the evolved form of Sealeo which he uses as a Gym Leader.
Milotic

Pretty much the same team as his Champion team, with the addition of Luvdisc and Walrein.

Steven:
Nosepass, a Pokémon that becomes Steel-type through level up in certain areas.
Mawile, a steel type found where the player first meets him. Granite Cave.
Magneton, a steel type that was oddly missing from his team the first time around
Aggron
Skarmory
Metagross

Iris:
Yanmega, a Bug/Flying Pokémon based on a DRAGONfly and was rumored to have been a Bug/Dragon before the official typing was revealed. Also a nod to her predecessor Alder's affinity for Bug Pokémon.
Flygon, a minor dragon-type found in Unova.
Altaria, another Unova dragon.
Druddigon
Hydreigon
Haxorus.

The "Yanmega being a dragonfly" thing doesn't translate well outside of English, because English is unusual in making a connection between dragons and dragonflies.

I'd give Lance Dragonite / Tyranitar / Gyarados / Kingdra / Mega Charizard / Skarmory because they're strong draconic Gen 1 and 2 Pokémon. Similarily I'd give Iris Haxorus / Skarmory / Tyranitar / Scrafty / Flygon / Mega Ampharos.

A few great Pokémon have some metal on them...I'd give Steven Metagross / Mega Mawile / Skarmory / Alakazam / Donphan (could be tyre rubber though) / Electrode.

Wallace...who knows. I'm stuck between good Water-type Pokémon with no synergy together and amphibious/aquatic Pokémon that aren't great in their own right. Maybe Milotic / Gyarados / Crawdaunt / Starmie / Cradily and...Muk? Never realised Hoenn's dex was so underpowered.

Besides Lance and Wallace, I see no reason why any of these Champions' teams should be changed. Not Steven's or Iris' for sure, at least. They had half-Monotypes and half-variety, and all 6 were different Pokémon.

Lance definitely could use a less pathetic team, though. Replace two of his Dragonites with Kingdra and Tyranitar. I think the only reason they're not used is because Lance has a sauric/draconic theme going, which Kingdra doesn't fit that well (It's based on a fish), and they don't seem to give any Trainer more than one Pseudo-Legendary besides repeats, meaning no Tyranitar. Still, I feel a bit of rule-breaking should be fine to make him a worthy opponent. If Tyranitar is too much, Steelix or Lapras could work as well, as they have always had a slightly draconic-esque theme going for them, as well as learning Dragon moves since GS.

Wallace should use half Water Types only, or 4 at the most. However, it's a bit difficult to do this because there's not too many other themes that he's associated with directly, and non-Water Pokémon that learn Water moves are few and far between. I figure going with the beauty and grace theme could work, though. Bellossom, Roselia, Medicham, Delcatty, Ninetales, and Gardevoir all could fit him. Maybe Cradily and Armaldo too, as they're based on ancient sea creatures, though Steven also uses them. I guess I'd replace Ludicolo and Tentacruel, as they don't really seem to fit him. Also Wailord if 3 is an option.

Finally, I'd replace Iris' Aggron with Excadrill, purely because her Excadrill in the Anime is pure awesomeness.

I actually went in and made teams for every single Champion (including N, who isn't technically a Champion) and I gave Blue an Umbreon just for the simple fact that Gary's Umbreon is pure slayage lol
