I figured it was time for another update. However, it won't be about monsters this time. Here's a set of charts showing each of the "important" characters' magical abilities. As you can see, Celtic has a diverse list of useable spells. This is because he's become a Jack-of-all-trades, so he's covering as many bases as possible. Not all of them have appeared just yet, but they will soon enough.

As you can see, Skye is hyper-offense. This makes sense as elves as a whole are glass cannons/fragile speedsters in Zakota, thus they need to overpower their foes quickly lest they fall victim to their low defenses. While Skye is more durable than most elves due to being part of Celtic's party, thus she gets plenty of Defense/Magical Defense boosts from various Shroud powers, she's still prefers to overwhelm her enemies quickly, though her newfound Illusion magic does give her some more defensive capabilities. She also has the easiest time exploiting elemental advantages, as she knows 7 of the 9 main elements, and is an important cog in combos, giving her quite a bit of flexibility.

You can see that Rupert has a heavy focus on Nature. This makes sense as Beastmen are often associated with the Nature and Earth elements, depending on "breed", so his strong affinity for Nature is to-be-expected.

Simply put, Viola is a white mage, thus she uses mostly white magic such as healing and buffing. She does have some offensive spells peppered in which she obtained from Magic Pearls, giving her a few more options. The fact that she's an Arachne, which is a species that known for being magically inept, yet she knows this many spells is proof of how gifted she is.

As you can see, Tyroe favors the Earth element. Makes sense, as he's an Earth Naga. He also knows the least magic due to his lower intelligence. He's not dumb (unlike a certain Spear Moron) he's just the least intelligent of his party. Think of him as Yangus from Dragon Quest 8.

Next up is Zuzu. As you can see, she's heavy in the Dark element with Demon peppered in. Considering she's a Succuryn, a female-only Dark-attribute demon, it's only logical. She also knows debuffs in order to weaken her prey more easily, as she fights by the "survival of the fittest" mantra. Quite the dark action girl.

Ryan is similar to Skye as he focuses on hyper-offense. This included spells that actually penalize the user with either self-inflicted stat debuffs or HP damage in exchange for heavy power. Considering he's already a glass cannon/fragile speedster who cares little for defense it make sense that he'd prefer hyper-offense.

Like Ryan, Lucas focuses on hyper-offense. He also has some anti-demon tactics due to his rivalry with Celtic (and given the fact that Veronica/Wench is part of his party, she probably convinced him to pick them up because of her own dislike of Celtic and Zuzu). That said, Lucas isn't the brightest bulb in the box so he doesn't use his spells when they'd be useful, such as exploiting elemental advantages, preferring to use whatever pops into his empty head first.

Like the previous two Heroes, Eric uses hyper-offense tactics. Like his fellow Heroes (sans Celtic) he prefers strong, flashy techniques to beat down his foes, along with favoring Fire magic.

Because he's the Bow Hero, Jerry, obviously, prefers ranged attacks or ones that can deal multiple hits. Like the other Heroes he's a hyper-offense type of guy, though he also uses moves like Blind and Guard Crush to make his targets easier to deal with.

As you can see with Veronica/Wench, she has a strong preference for Fire-based magic. One reason is because Fire magic is very easy to learn, as she's too lazy to do any real training, thus she takes the easy route with learning magic. It also reflects her destructive nature due to being one of the main villains of the series. Pretty fitting, right?
