More details announced for December's Pokémon GO Community Day

After the date was revealed in the first Pokémon GO Developer Diaries episode, Niantic has announced more details for the Pokémon GO Community Day event in December. The event will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2021, and Sunday, December 19, 2021. Throughout the event, Pokémon featured in Community Day events throughout 2021 will be appearing more frequently in the wild, while Pokémon featured in Community Day events during 2020 will be hatching from Eggs and appearing in raids.

Event Bonuses
From 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time daily, the following bonuses will be active:

• 2× Catch XP
• 2× Catch Stardust
• Incense activated during the event will last for three hours
• Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours
• ½ Hatch Distance when Eggs are placed in an Incubator during the event

To celebrate the last Community Day event of the year, two additional bonuses will be available from December 17, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. local time to December 19, 2021, at 11:59 p.m. local time:

• 25% reduced Stardust cost for trades
• 1 extra special trade per day

Pokémon Storage and Item Bag Cap Increase
As previously announced, starting from December 16, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. PST (GMT -8), the maximum amount that the Pokémon storage and Item Bag can be expanded to will be increased.

• Pokémon Storage Expansion Cap: 5,000 -> 5,500
• Item Bag Expansion Cap: 4,000 -> 4,500

Pokémon
All Pokémon appearing in the wild, hatching from Eggs, and appearing in raids can appear in their Shiny variants.

The following Pokémon featured during Community Day events in 2021 will be appearing more frequently in the wild. They will also be attracted to Incense and Lure Modules regardless of what day it is.

From December 18, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. local time to December 20, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. local time, Timed Research tasks will be available, which focused on all of the Pokémon that have been featured in Community Day events over the past two years.

For US$1.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency), the December Community Day–exclusive Special Research story, December Community Day 2021, will be available.

From December 17, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to December 20, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. PST (GMT −8), there'll be a special one-time-purchase Community Day Box available for 1,280 PokéCoins, featuring 50 Ultra Balls, six Star Pieces, an Elite Fast TM, and an Elite Charged TM. 30 Ultra Balls will also be available in the shop at no cost.
