Okay, I admit that I didn't think the wording through (I will correct it), what I was talking about is the ROM leak, since that video showed new things that went unnoticed until that upload. For example, new things shown here include Honoguma (confirming the 2013 pic as real), Ledyba, and the Pokédex layout. It's a nice video, but I don't think anyone had doubts about the demo, which was reported on by multiple sites back in the day. The ROM is a different matter, although hopefully only the greatest of skeptics doubt its authenticity.
I don't know, on the other hand, I feel that someone that wanted to fake the demo would have added things that were "common knowledge" at the time, like making Ken and Red the same person, having an Electivire look-alike, making the beta Pokémon look like the fanart they got, giving the names "Aqua" and "Aquaria" to Marill and Azumarill, giving the name Animon to Unown, adding the Pokémon in that one magazine cover that Sugimori drew, etc. That's a good point. I don't think there should be any question that the ROM was leaked, but a devil's advocate could argue that the leaker added a whole bunch of stuff that was not already there. That sounds insane, though.
The games were slated for release 4 months after the demo, so if anything you'd expect the ROM to be more complete.
