On a side note, we need more fire starters who are viable as special attackers. Both fire starters for that role are mediocre (Typhlosion and Delphox). Mega Charizard Y was Sun Team viable but we know what happened to it. Infernape can pull off a mixed set but it’s best run with close combat. Incineroar, Blaziken, Emboar and Cinderace are completely physical.
Really? Regular Charizard is viable on sun teams, with Solar Power. Blaziken can also occasionally run mixed sets, if not outright going 100% special, if I'm not mistaken. But yeah, more Fire-type special attackers would be great to see.

Was just looking through Alolan Raichu's moves and abilities and noticed that its ability gives it a boost on Electric Terrain but it can't learn Electric Terrain by level up (it can by TR, but not level up). They should fix that.

Just want to say that Slowbro and Slowking do in fact learn Flamethrower and Fire Blast, for reasons I do not know. Gyarados learns those moves too, because of its draconic origins (dragons breathe fire).
And don't forget Volcanion too, the literal Fire/Water-type.

now question if Inteleon and Feraligatr should get something... Feraligatr fire fang? Inteleon fire lash? both would make sense actually.
Off the top of my head, Palkia, Octillery, Raincloud Castform, Ludicolo, and Urshifu Rapid Strike all learn damaging Fire-type moves. Plus Arceus and Silvally-Water if you’d count those.

It bothers me that the Bagon line can only get Dragon Rush as an egg move. It’s a hard headed dragon whose most obvious way of attacking is ramming stuff, you’d think it would learn what’s essentially Dragon Tackle.

Besides, Salamence’s only strong physical dragon attack besides Outrage is Dragon Claw, and I can’t picture it actually using that without looking ridiculous.

I know about regular charizard, but I’ve quite literally never seen a special Blaziken. Even the Smogon suggested Moveset is Physical. Its physical attack is higher and Mega Evolution, if we're counting it just adds to the difference. I got the impression that Physical Blaziken is the popular choice. You’d also be abandoning stuff like High Jump Kick.
Even the majority of the level up moveset is physical (actually, the only special move it learns via level up is Ember).

I doubt a special moveset (Flamethrower/Fire blast + Focus Miss) would outclass Flare Blitz + Swords Dance+High Jump Kick anytime soon.

I was just throwing it out there that Blaziken's decent Special Attack could allow for some special sets. I know it's not the best set and probably never will be, but it's still a possibility, albeit a slim one.

~~~
Also, I was looking at the moves Fire Lash and Zing Zap. They both have small distributions, yet they're not signature moves. Fire Lash is a powerful move, but why should Heatmor, the Centiskorch line, and Salazzle get it? In Generation 7, it was Heatmor's signature move.
Zing Zap is only learned by Togedemaru and Pincurchin, and this is because Zing Zap's Japanese name is "Shocking and Prickly", just so everyone knows. That's probably why not that many Pokémon learn it; the two Pokémon that do learn it are spiky, so they make sense. This brings up a question of why other spiky Pokémon don't learn this move, though; especially those that are Electric-type, if there are any others.
Yeah, I see your point, but if we were splitting the fire starters into being physical or special Blaziken firmly falls into physical. That’s what made it the first Uber starter. I’ve found that fire starters tend to be disproportionately be better on the physical side. The few special fire starters aren’t that viable (Charizard has only even entered into consideration due to the existence of Heavy Duty Boots).
I’d like to see GameFreak actually create a formidable special fire starter.
grass too actually mostly physical 3 generations lately, like it begs for grass version of Delphox or Primarina here to come soon... but not necessary femine in meaning rather stats spread... a special defense oriented wall, we got only one grass strong special attacker with sceptile, venuaur was timid....
taking fairy, electric are godod at this.... rock and steel feel like fast and dual attack and dual walls here in the department more but.... Decidueye , Venuaur and Meganium 100 sp. defense never felt enough in this department... Meganium was a dual wall with hp always... hmmm special version of chesnaught would fit the sheme here....
water is over specialised lately... only 2 physical attackers. Both slow tanky... Like we beg for a water type Inferape here but more defense robust and better offensive typing then Greninja...
maybe a little bit slower with better defences?
generaly after primarina I think we would need a physical wall, dual wall too, perfect for secondary poison or ghost typing... water never got a strong HP oriented pokemon too...
Generaly gen 6 and 7 we got the first dual fire starters that are a fast special wall and a increased priority dual wall...
Fire still misses a stronger dual wall and a physical wall in this department, taking 5 out of 8 are physical attackers.... 3 have nice special attack but looking at primarina makes me feel that both grass and fire can find here a unique niche... speed wont play a big role with hp, defenses and old and new increaed priority moves coming our way here...
What roles would You give starters taking the tank, sweeper , wall sheme?
did someone noticed it?
Feraligatr , Rillaboom, Decidue, Chesnaught , Emboar, Swampert are all strong physical slow Wallbreakers
taking how it goes next grass needs to be special and taking stats a special wall and special wall breaker maybe even faster th
back to moves what pokemon should learn... Circle throw for starter pokemon... why didnt it happen?
switching oponet would be cool.... Feraligatr, Incineroar, Rillaboom, Infernape, Samuotrr.... all have fighting inspirations or animal conetion to circle throw something out...
Drain punch for Emboar?
Hey what you think about Incineroar and Feraligatr gettting Jaw Lock to trap their oponnets? would get stab even here...
Blaziken and Infernape, what about Trop kick for them?
taking gen 4 remake is near , hope Anchor shot with Empoleon as egg move....
steel beam will make it get new niche as steel special attacker here...
Sparkling aria too actually... Flip turn , will allow for some fun here... Tea time with our gentelman pinguin? Fishous rend with Empoleon and Swampert? posibble? or not?
Scorching sands and all those new rock moves for Torterra, grassy glide will make it quite interesting if it gets it too... How do you think the new moves will affect the game play?
a Torterra with Jaw Lock? Spiky Shield with the tree done? Snap trap?Body press?
Torterra with Belch? aple acid and grav apple too? Life dew? this move needs to get better with rain or after getting hit by a water move in future...
Torterra with Tar shot? and learning Fire pledge? as a combo? it can learn earth power?
or will scorching sands get a power boost when inflicting burn on a tar shot target?
Drum beating for Torterra and Chesnaught... the first with vines and rocks on its back and the later when doing belly drum movement?
Infernape trop kick, drain punch, could get grassy glide as a monkey too....
Pyroball with the Inferape and Blaziken?
makes sense they wont steal Cinderace speed position for sure...
Inferape with Spirit Break? No retreat? Incineroar , Empoleon, and Samuotrr could get that too taking their military fighting relation...
Court change, Infernape, Serperior Samuotrr, Empoleon, Emboar , Delphox, Incineroar, Decidueye(court of owls) all they would need acces to this somehow...or at least the magic related ones and the slow ones with samurai and sumo relation...
Magic Powder interesting if Delphox and Meganium could get there
weird that Meganium dont has dark type moves, any? with it voice and learning sound move should get partying shot at least here... could switch out... would be a nice combo with magic powder...
Delphox getting a switching out yourself or oponent move? whirlwind? partying shot? or something that kind? weird it dint got U-turn... as a Fox... would give it fairy terrain too actually.
I feel like Flareon should get more physical Fire type moves like Blaze Kick, Fire Lash, Heat Crash, and Fire Punch.
While I agree that Flareon should get more physical Fire moves, Fire Lash and Fire Punch don't seem fitting--Flareon doesn't have hands nor a whip-like extension such as a long tongue or tail--while Heat Crash wouldn't be useful considering how light in terms of weight Flareon is. Blaze Kick I agree with, Flareon looks somewhat like rabbit in my opinion, which I believe kick in defense, and Flame Wheel could also work.
Speaking of fire punch, why the hell can gastly learn it?
Also, TheAuraGuardian made a whole series on this topic on youtube, if anyone's interested.
My guess is that Gastly can use its ghostly powers to create hands to use the elemental punches.
That's possible. But surely other limbless ghost pokemon (like spiritomb or litwick) would be able to do it as well.
It's especially weird because Duskull is in a similar boat - a limbless pokemon evolves into one with hands (which rightfully learns shadow punch and elemental punches), except it can't learn the punches itself.
