I will never understand the obsession with Blair Witch Whatever~ The Blair Witch Project was absolutely awful and boring and yet people thought it was the greatest thing in the multiverse for years afterwards. Blair Witch doesn't look much better, from the previews, and I don't understand why people have made it #2~ I for one will be avoiding it like the plague.

Blair Witch - Budget $5 million - SUCCESS
Bridget Jones's Baby - Budget $35 million - made more money overseas
Snowden - Budget $40 million - FAIL

Magnificent Seven, The (2016)

Gamblers, cons, outcasts, bounty hunters, hired guns - seven mercenaries find themselves facing a superior force but will not back down from the showdown they know is coming.

Storks (2016)
Plot: Everyone knows storks delivers babies - at least they used to, now all the storks works for the internet giant Cornerstore.com. But when a top stork delivery agent, about to be promoted, accidentally activates the Baby Making Machine, he is left with the cutest bundle of joy - a wholly unauthorized one at that. Now, he needs to find a way to give this baby a new home before his mistake is found out. Teaming up with the only human around, Tulip, he races to complete the first baby drop in a very long time.

I've seen the 1960's Magnificent Seven (which I like, forgot to add), so I know the remake will probably be bad like remakes usually are, as for Storks I'll probably see it since I'm usually a sucker for cute animated movies.

And Blair Witch made the no. 2 spot? Really? The 1999 Blair Witch Project wasn't even that good or scary and they failed horribly with the whole lost tape thing, it's sequel was absolute trash too, why would I think this one would be any different? Yeah not even going to bother watching it when it comes on TV. It may look pretty good to some people, and that's fine, but from the commercials to me it looks like a try-hard movie just like the one in '99 was.

I just don't like movies that have pretty much everything happening off-camera. When you're a writer, they say "show, don't tell." Movies like Blair Witch Project are neither showing nor telling. They also say "leave things to the imagination in horror, because there's nothing scarier than what each person subjectively imposes from their own fears," but they are leaving literally everything to the imagination. I'm sorry but that's just plain lazy to me. If you're going to leave everything to my imagination I can just stay home and daydream for free instead of paying whatever tickets cost now to sit in a dark room full of obnoxious strangers and fill in the massive gaping canyon-sized holes in your plot with mah brainz.
