Now that Legends: Arceus is out, and many of us have seen Hisui for ourselves, this means that its time to rework my version of the setting with some of the info we know now.
Some Questions, Answered
--Wouldn't we run into a problem with two Lucas/Dawns?
For the purposes of this new version of Hisui, everything about time travel and time distortion is cut out--the ancient ancestors of Ash and co.--Dawn included--were meant to be in Hisui all along. The Sensational Six of the past are the ancient ancestors of today's Sensational Six (Ash-Misty-Brock-Serena-May-Dawn)--they are in turn reincarnations of six ancient heroes known as the Six Spirits (phoenix/dragon/Raikou/Delphox/Beautifly/Deerling.)
--What about building the Pokedex?
That will mainly take place in the background for this first adventure set in this new Hisui. But this is not to say our heroes won't help Lucas/Kouki and the Galaxy Expedition Team out a few times along the way.
--How comfortable are people with Pokemon in this version?
For the most part, people are mainly neutral to Pokemon, but are very respectful of the power they have. Those that own Pokemon are classified into wielders and tamers (the ancestors of today's Trainers). Tamers are particularly revered in Hisui because they are relatively rare--those who have tamed a Pokemon are said to be very skilled, and tamers with multiple Pokemon are seen as gods.
--How comfortable are people with foreigners in this version?
Since Waku (the super-region this version of Hisui is a part of) has only recently reopened to foreign relations, some people see foreigners as a threat, but the vast majority see foreigners as curiosities, and some are willing to give foreign products a try. Soap from Kalusienne (modern day Kalos) is particularly valued, and in some circles, is worth more than gold. Some Kalusien visitors have taught the Hisuians their methods of making soap, setting the stage for the Wakunese soap boom. Serena, nee Golden Delphox is sometimes called shabon no onna--the soap lady--because of her vast collection of Kalusien soap, and willingness to trade and sell her soap.
More to come as people ask questions, or I think of other questions people may have.
