This is my world map of how the Pokémon world should be.
In my mind the Pokémon world is actually very small, hence the same religion (Arceusism), the same traditional culture (mix of east and west with some unique sci-fantasy\steampunk elements, close to the cultures of the Mushroom Kingdom and Hyrule, expecially the Mushroom Kingdom), and the same language (it's like a mix of Japanese and English but also heavily derived from Pokémon cries, it has a lot of similiarities to Mushroomese and even some similiarities to Hylian), and even the same phenotype (basically they pretty much look like anime people).
There are some differences between regions in both culture and dialect, mostly caused and\or influenced by the Legendaries, such as:
Kanto is a bit more of a poisonous wasteland and a bit more barren than the others. Out of all regions it's slightly more Mushroom Kingdom-esque. It is the most important of the regions, Saffron is pretty much the capital of the whole planet. Their official mascot Pokémon is Pikachu.
Johto is a bit windier, a bit more traditional Japanese-y. It's mascot pokémon is Marill.
Hoenn is more tropical, with more Pacific Island similiarities but not as much as Alola. It's mascot pokémon is Ralts.
Sinnoh is colder, a bit more Ainu similiarities, also a slight similiarities to Siberians and Mongols, and Lucario as a mascot.
Unova is like a lushier Kanto, with some Anglosphere similiarities expecially USA and Canada, and Zoroark as a mascot.
Kalos is lush, but not as foresty as Unova. It has a lil more French similiarities, and Floette as a mascot.
Alola is really tropical and somewhat similiar to Hawaii. Lycanroc is their mascot.
Galar is lush, has Anglosphere similiarities expecially to UK and Ireland (it's a bit of an average between Black Version Unova and White Version Unova but with also some unique qualities) and Obstagoon for mascot.
Simplo is a simplistic average of the rest of the regions.
Waets is more medieval and traditional, in a way that unites traditions across the world (both our and the PokéWorld).
Ignesia is tropical and has more similiarities to various Mediterranean and Tropical cultures.
Ledskaya is cold and has more Russian, Siberian, and even slight Inuit similiarities, and Communist (Snommunist) aestethics.

I'd like to think the Pokemon world is much bigger than that as that makes it feel more vast to explore. However, Real world inspirations aside, Kalos, Hoenn and Alola being close makes sense because of Mega evolution.

This is some impressive theory crafting here, and your placing of the different maps makes sense. Thanks for posting it.

Do you think there would be unsettled wilderness areas in between the cities, or would it mostly be ocean?
