New costumed Pokémon, Tapu Bulu, and more in Pokémon GO's Spring into Spring event

Niantic has announced a new event in Pokémon GO to celebrate the beginning of Spring. Spring into Spring will take place from April 12th at 10:00 a.m. to April 18th at 8:00 p.m. local time. Togetic wearing a flower crown, Togekiss wearing a flower crown, Lopunny wearing a flower crown, and Tapu Bulu will all make their Pokémon GO debut during this event.

Starting from April 12th at 10:00 a.m. local time, the Ula'ula Island Special Research will be unlocked when players log-in to their game. Players will have until June 1st at 9:59 a.m. local time to log-in to their game in order to receive the Special Research, and once unlocked, it can be completed even after the Season of Alola ends. If the Special Research is completed by June 1st, a bonus Special Research line will also be unlocked at the end of the Season.

The following event bonuses will be active during the Spring into Spring event:
  • 2× Hatch Candy
  • Lucky Egg Duration
  • 1/2 Hatch Distance
  • Team GO Rocket grunts will have more Shadow Whismur and Shadow Exeggcute in their parties

A Collection Challenge to collect themed Pokémon will be available during the Spring into Spring event. Completing the challenge contributes to the Elite Collector medal, and will earn players 2,000 XP, 2,000 Stardust, and an encounter with Togetic wearing a flower crown.

New stickers featuring event-themed Pokémon will also be available by spinning PokéStops, opening Gifts, and purchasing them from the in-game shop. These stickers will be available for the remainder of the Season.

An Egg-citing Spring Surprise
On April 16th, a Limited Research Day event, An Egg-citing Spring Surprise, will be taking place from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. local time. When players spin Photo Discs at PokéStops, they will receive Limited Research tasks. When each of these tasks are completed, players will encounter Exeggcute, which have a chance to be Shiny. If evolved into Alolan Exeggutor, these Pokémon will learn the Charged Attack Draco Meteor. Draco Meteor has a power of 150 regardless of in Trainer Battles, or in Gyms and raids. A 2× Catch XP bonus will also be active during An Egg-citing Spring Surprise, in addition to the Spring into Spring event bonuses.
