New Gym Leaders and Elite 4?

I'm hoping that Steven is the Champion, he is the one trainer I've never ever beaten.

In 2003 Ruby I beat all Elite 4, then saved before fighting Steven, just could not win and gave up.
In 2005 Emerald he was gone so no longer necessary, found him later on and still couldn't beat him.
Then in my 2013 re run through Emerald, I forgot to go find him completely and already transferred my team across to Platinum when I remembered even though I'm sure now being older and actually having a decent team with moves not just spamming fire blast I could have one

So yeah have never beaten Steven and am looking forward to the chance.

I think phoebe and glacia shouldn't stay coz their pokemon aren't quite challenging enough and I can beat them IN 10 MINUTES when I play the original r/s
No, thanks. Phoebe should stay. Just remove one of her Banette, give her a Froslass, a Chandelure and evolve one of her Dusclops into a Dusknoir. Also, give Sableye a Mega Evolution and make her Sableye mega evolve during the battle. Not sure what they could change in Glacia's team (I don't even remember what her team was?).

It's Glalie(2), Walrein and it's pre evolution(2).

The only thing about Gym Leaders and Elite Four I would like to see are their new fashion choices. The updates made for Gold and Silver's leaders are great, and some of them even appear a lot different than before (Sabrina). Some I could see with minimal changes like Roxanne and Flannery, but there could be some with a radical change like Sidney (I think he looks more like a Fire specialist than a Dark). Even in HeartGold and SoulSilver, fashion choices that didn't make sense (Pryce's tropical getup) make sense now (he wears warmer clothing now).

Are you referring to her HGSS redesign? Because I've always felt that was a reference to her arc in the anime where she normalized after meeting Haunter.

That was what I was referring to. Come to think of it, Sabrina is the only HGSS specialist with a huge makeover.

Thanks for reading.

Since it's a remake, the only person who comes into question is Steven and Wallace. I figure they'll probably have Juan the gym leader and Wallace the champion - Steven just worked better as a bonus battle.

Why two specialists of the same type? :/ Wouldn't Steven be better?

If it's about Hoenn I expect maybe a new 8th gym leader or new champion but that's it. Eventually maybe a replacement for Norman or so.

Making Winona's gym a Sky Battle is an idiotic idea. The limitations on Sky Battles would make it completely possible that none of the pokemon on your team would even be usable for those battles. Never have GF limited the pokemon you could use in a gym battle. The Celadon gym didn't require you only use female pokemon. They aren't going to make the Fortree Gym limit you to pokemon with those God awful airborne models.

I just hope that the redesigns aren't too drastic. What makes the Hoenn Elite 4 such stand outs(besides being the the first WITH THEIR OWN MUSIC, SUCK IT KANTO JOHTO, SINNOH) was how tricky they were.

E1)So you walk up to Sydney and look at him: red mohawk, red shirt, looks like he's a rock star, he's obviously a fire E4. NOPE, he sends out a Mightyena and that Swampert you sent out just had it's attack cut from Intimidate so you won't be able to sweep him with earthquake.
E2)Oh hey a Hawaiian hulu girl! Obviously she must be a water E4 and your awesome Sceptile will get another round of easy experience like back during the Wallace fight. NOPE, she sends a Duskull that knows ICE BEAM and murders your oversized gecko.
E3)Ok, so you're onto their trickery and since the next E4 is a classy looking lady then she's probably some sort of fighting E4. NOPE, all ICE AND WATER! So that Swellow you led in with won't be able to switch with Blaziken because of how frail he is.
E4)YOU'RE A PIRATE, YOU HAVE A SAILOR'S HAT, YOU'RE A WATER E4! NOPE, and you didn't catch any ice types because you didn't like Spheals and accidentally missed Snorunt.

Champion: SPIKES SKARYMORY! LEVITATING CLAYDOL! WHAT THE HELL IS A METAGROSS!

I hope they keep the order from R/S or Emerald. Heck, they could use the Emerald Gym Leader order and the RS Elite Four order or just do it the other way around.

If they make changes to the Gym Leaders and Elite Four's parties, I'm curious if they will add any G5 or G6 Pokemon to their rosters.

As for Winona being a Sky Battle opponent, that would be nice, but I think it would be better to just leave it out of the gym for the time being.

With that team, there wouldn't be anymore b*tchin' about who's champion, without a doubt it would be Phoebe.

Wynona's Gym Battle should definitely NOT be a Sky Battle. That would make us have to catch too many Flying (or levitating) Pokémon, even if we don't want to. For example, right now, in my Emerald run, my current team is Combusken, Gardevoir, Lairon, Lombre and Manectric. I'm planning on catching a Bagon soon so I have Salamence to Fly with, but I can't catch him yet. I would have to catch Skarmory, Swellow, Pelipper and other things to battle her.

I do think, however, that such a feature SHOULD be implemented, which is why I think that AFTER you beat the Elite 4, you can challenge Wynona to a Sky Battle. It should be a bonus option, methinks.

I'm sure that the Gym Leaders and Elite 4 members will be the same. They'll just give them redesigns and hopefully improve upon their teams, especially the Elite 4 members, when you battle them, or at least when you battle them again. Steven will most likely be the champion with Wallace being the eighth Gym Leader. I'm sure that they'll include Juan in there somewhere either during the storyline or as an extra trainer to face post-Elite 4.

They've done it before in BW2. Even though Iris' team wasn't all Dragons she was, more or less, a Dragon specialist like Drayden. Come to think of it, they did it in Johto, too~

Make Tate and Liza's gym battle an inverse battle to awaken traumatic memories in everyone who played the originals.

Arguably, Lance was the champion of Indigo League, which means he was the champion of both Kanto and Johto. With 16 gyms and an Elite 4, some types were bound to be repeated. So even if Lance specialized in a different type other than Dragon, there was bound to be a gym leader of the same type somewhere in either Kanto or Johto.

I dunno what to say about Iris though.

And there's already too many water-type trainers in the region, including Team Aqua. It's going to be boring if the whole gameplay made us face water-types almost all the time up to the champion. There's 18 types - the more diversity, the better.

True, but I was making the comparison of 8th Gym Leaders and Champions using the same types and in regards to the proximity you face them (as in, you'd face Lance after you face Clair, as well as before anyone in Kanto).

And this is true, but Team Aqua hardly use any credible Water-types, anyway. They mainly use Zubat's family and Poochyena's. I don't even think most of their Water-types use any Water-type moves. But I get your point.

I think Phoebe it's not the suitable champ in the Pokemon League because ghost are easily being beated by Psychic and the Darkies.
Also Phoebe is only masters in Ghost pokemon, wouldn't be ridiculous if we sees her as a Champion with her lowly team(Except Sableeye) to challenge us the Already-Being-a-Professional trainer?
Yes. So in short I don't want her to be the Champion.

Well, I think we were a bit sarcastic with those posts. We think she is underpowered with her team. So when @reila mentioned a good boost for her roster, she would gain one heck of a team. Thats basically what we are trying to say here.
