Santa Cruuz Skateboards, Squishmallows, and Tom Wood jewelry
The Pokémon Company International has announced plenty of merch collaborations for September, including with longtime partner Jazwares, jewelry designer Tom Wood, and California-based skate and apparel brand Santa Cruz Skateboards.

Squishmallows, produced by Jazwares, teased two moon-themed Pokémon for their line which already includes Pikachu, Gengar, Snorlax, Togepi, and Piplup. Teddiursa and Clefairy will be available first at Pokémon Centers, although no release date is currently announced. Just like other Squishmallows available at Pokémon Centers, Teddiursa and Clefairy will come in the exclusive 12-inch size, and have an exclusive Poké Ball applique.

A more unique brand collab for The Pokémon Company International is with Norwegian luxury jewelry designer Tom Wood. Three subtly different Pikachu charms (happy, shy, and “hello”), in recycled gold or silver, make up the capsule collection which will be available on September 28th at Tom Wood’s website and select retailers. Founder Mona Jensen, in an interview with Vogue Scandinavia, communicates her interpretation of the impact of the Pokémon brand. “To me, the Pikachu holds the power of a true talisman,” says Jensen. "It's like a lucky charm you can bring with you everywhere.” Tom Wood’s robust environmental and production responsibility pledges make for a more mindful move by the Pokémon brand, considering their questionable new collaboration with fossil fuel megacorporation Shell in Singapore which started yesterday.

Finally, The Pokémon Company International has announced a collaboration for Pokémon-themed skate decks with Santa Cruz Skateboards. While this isn’t their first collaboration with a skateboard manufacturer, as multiple Pokémon collections have previously been launched with Bear Walker, the new Santa Cruz collection will be distributed differently. Apparently inspired by the Pokémon Trading Card Game, the standard 8-inch boards will be sold in blind bags with the possibility of pulling one of 15 silver holo foil or 5 gold holo foil designs. The blind bags will be available starting September 13th on Santa Cruz Skateboards’ website and at their retail partners internationally.
