The green glow around the text made me think Sceptile instantly (just because it's a popular suggestion for the game). The name fits too. I wouldn't mind Sceptile because Mega Sceptile is cool... but we need some Pokemon from Gen V/VI in this. So far it's just catering to the earlier Gens which honestly sucks cos there's some great candidates in Gen V/VI.

Of course the green glow might not be relevant.

Still waiting Hawlucha, fuck Pikachu Libre for being included before it

Hmm...so after searching, I'm pretty sure that the new Pokemon playable may be Chesnaught. It's green with a red/brown secondary colouring, and it has in it's name.

Plus its a Fighting type as well as a good choice since there are literally no Kalos Pokemon in the roster. Yet. I hope.

I think the pokemon should be Metapod, it has an in its Japanese name and it would be awesome to have Metapod vs Metapod matches in Pokken

I personally want Mienshao to be a playable Pokemon in Pokken, for the Japanese name is "コジョンド" (Kojondo) and has the "ン" character in the name, plus it's a Fighting type and there's absolutely NO representation for Gen 5 in the game currently, so Mienshao would be a perfect fit.

Looks like I was right and it is Sceptile. Still no Gen V/VI representing fighter then.

Gen I: Charizard, Machamp, Gengar, Pikachu, Pikachu Libre, Mewtwo
Gen II: Suicune
Gen III: Blaziken, Sceptile, Gardevoir
Gen IV: Weavile, Lucario
Gen V:
Gen VI:

Good job... >:C

I agree with you, I was hoping for a Gen 5 Pokemon, specifically Mienshao because it's my favorite Fighting type and barely gets any representation in any of the spin-off titles, plus it's a perfect fit for the game given it's a Fighting type.

Also, if you're going to have both Blaziken and Sceptile in Pokken, you might as well include Swampert as well and complete the set.

I'm not sure about Swampert. But looking at how the roster is filling out I wouldn't be surprised at Scizor, Garchomp and Greninja being included. It seems like most of the super popular Pokemon are going to be in and they are two of the most popular that are still missing. (Though I would love Scizor to be in personally, but don't care about the other two.)

I was kinda hoping we'd get a few underdogs being represented but so far it just looks like the "greatest hits" of Pokemon. Which I guess makes sense from a marketing point of view because they want it to sell and having... lesser liked Pokemon wouldn't achieve the same.

Still can't believe Hawlucha isn't in, though. It's made to be in something like this. Pikachu Libre should have just been an alternate outfit for Pikachu that changes its moves a little rather than being an entirely separate fighter.

I really would like to see representation of gen 5 and 6 at some point, Zoroark seems like a mainstream enough option that could be neat. Sceptile is pretty cool though, I remember hoping for him in smash and this is close enough!

This game is developed by Bandai Namco and Published the Pokemon Company. I don't think the Director from Game Freak is to blame for character choices.

Huh. I always though Masuda was behind every bad decision of the entire franchise.

(cough cough Battle Maison in ORAS cough cough)

So, Sceptile was indeed confirmed. I still would rather have Mienshao as a playable character, but better luck next time for it. Still, if you're going to have both Sceptile and Blaziken, at least include Swampert as well and complete that trio.
