You know, about Maggyo, who looks really strange body-wise, I found the animal that most resembles Maggyo, appearance and characteristic-wise. Let me introduce you to the stargazer fish:

stargazer1.jpg

may2006_23_stargazer.jpg

Description
"Stargazers possess a large upward-facing mouth in an equally large head and have their eyes on the top of their heads, giving them their name. Their usual habit is to bury themselves in sand, and leap upwards to ambush prey that passes overhead. Some species have a worm-shaped lure growing out of the floor of the mouth, which they can wiggle to attract prey’s attention. Electric Stargazers possess their electric organ behind each of their eyes that is capable of generating up to 50 volts of electricity which is more than sufficient to stun or kills its prey." (Text copied from a Smogon forum)

As you can see, this animal's mouth and eyes are on the top of its head, like Maggyo, and not to mention even Maggyo is even cuter than the real animal! From the description, it is clear where the Ground and Electric types were inspired from, not to mention the abilities. Static is obvious, with the stunning of the prey, Sand Veil (a Dream World ability) can be seen too, with it hiding in the sand and stuff, but Limber, I am not sure. (For those who dissed a Ground Pokemon for having this ability, remember that Stun Spore and Glare still exists, not that the ability would have a universal use anyway)

hello new thing I'm going to see in my nightmares

maggyo just got less cute..

I open this thread in the morning and this is the first thing I see. Not pretty.

Wouldn't it be awesome if Banipucchi had different forms based on ice cream flavors? Think of the possibilities!

Rocky road Banipucchi = Rock/Ice or Banana sundae Banipucchi = Electric/Ice.

my understanding of perversity is that it will only reverse the negative secondary effects.

with Leaf Storm it reverse the 2nd effect of lowering the SpA to Increasing the SpA. Neither Energy Ball or Grass Knot have any negatives effects for it to reverse.

I mean to use with Leaf-Storm... A smoves for him to be a Special-Sweeper Along with Perversity Jaroda

Zekrom and Reshiram have capture rates FAR too high.

Turn 1, Doryuuzu used Earthquake. Zek goes to mid yellow.
Turn 2, Ultra Ball. Blib, blip, blip, click.

I shit you not.

Not really. Since they're REQUIRED to move the story forward, would you REALLY want them to be hard to catch?

Since they're required to move the story forward....what happens if you knock them out? Do they stay there and you battle them again?

Just caught my first Musketeer Pokemon, Cobalon. Only took me 8 Ultra Balls too.

Man, I wasn't too keen on them first but, the way the battle opens up (with the screen being slashed to pieces by Sacred Sword), as well as the music and the animation of Cobalon, I've taken a liking to them. Too bad its sprite looks kind of weird, so hopefully the Sugimori Art will make it look much better.

Looking it over, I have to say this Region's Legendary selection is probably my favorite. Having three trios also works a bit more than having a lot of standalone ones like Gen IV did...it makes them "fit" more, in my mind, and the fact we have 5 Legendary Fighting-types, my favorite type probably, doesn't hurt either.

Also found this really cool Okami-style portrait of them...

You know nothing will ever top Glaceon as my favourite Pokemon ever but I am so in love with Urugamoth. That this looks badass and gracious and is a beast. It's my favourite GenV Pokemon and fore sure in my all-time Top 5.

I was rereading Feraligatr's article

And realized, it needs to be updated. It's no longer the tallest Final form of a starter pokemon (That title now belongs to Jaroda), though it is still the tallest final form of a Water Type starter Pokemon
