Pokemon drawing inspirations from similar sources is actually somewhat common, Even within a generation.

A possible relationship my proposed Phantom Knight has to Corviknight could be akin to the dichotomy between Haxorus and Hydreigon, for example.

Haxorus and Hydreigon's only similarity being that they are dragons- not even remotely the same kind of dragon- whereas a phantom knight and dark knight bare much closer similarities in design.

Pokemon drawing inspiration from similar sources within a generation is somewhat common in a broader sense, but like you might expect two pokemon based on a fox but you would not expect to receive two pokemon based on an arctic fox, and similarly I do not expect to receive two pokemon based on a dark or dark-esque knight.

dark raven, with knight motive, Game of Thrones confirmed.

Me interest more how fast the new rock type will be with its wheel and if it evolves will the wheel be around it's whole body?
maybe it will be a rock with many eys surronded by a big wheel. Hmmm flame wheel and all rolling moves come to mind here.

It's abilities suggest we may get a fast rock/steel type this generation? or rock/fire?

Hope they have a rock/ghost somewhere there too. Fingers crossed for a cat on two feet egyptian styled fast Bastet goodes with Queenly Majesty. With Dynamax You could summon sandstorm and it would really look majestic and godly, even should get a G-max form. G-max would fit in a hot desert african-egiptian-middle east region too in future but maybe more rare.

Hope next generations will focus on adding some new megas, z-moves , g-max forms and maybe a new gimmick like armors or sacred seals but for the new region pokemon and some old ones for equal dynamic.

Nincanda was cool but we would really need ground/bug worm pokemon that could have better stats and ability related with dig and sandstorm.

a cicada bug/dragon would be also cool.

For some reason, I can see Game Freak introducing a Pokémon that can only evolve by leveling up in Max Raid Battles, maybe requiring it to be Dynamaxed before evolution. It would be stupid, but they might just do it anyway.

I doubt they’re doing that with a mechanic which isn’t even confirmed to be in the next Generation. Specially since the Dynamax thingy is even more rooted in Galar than Z-Moves to Alola.

I hope we get a new one with parental bond. That ability should be with a non mega pokemon too. Weird that they did not give it to Vespiqueen actually or other hord like pokemon.

Also would be cool to get a pokemon with ability to multiply itself during battle and create tokens of itself. Could work like Token pokemon mechanic. That 2 fight one. You know a pokemon that can seperate itself into more. Could get a move to create tokens that the hp is equally distributed between them. Would need high hp and defences. Other pokes with similar bodies could learn that move to like Muk, Unown, Meltang. Max 6 vs 1. With a draining or healing move and prottect this could be a pseudolegendary but would regular pokemon. Pokemon that could actually fuse/combine when battling together during double battles... Lets say 4 or 6 pairs would be cool too. That would be 8 or 12 pokemon.

A pokemon that would gain immunity to the type of weather and terrain it battles on when out would be interesting. Maybe could be dual typed then with those types taking them or stay normal. Could be normal, fighting, ghost, psychic, bug, dragon, poison. So called Perfect adaptation. Beeing immune to enviroment and weather.

Still hope for bug/ground fast and 550 base stats worm pokemon with dig. Hmm maybe it could have that ability ? But hoped for something that could battle from underground when terrains are active and that would be tricky to get out. A Sandy terrain(lowers speed of all other types) for ground and sandstorm. Could learn shore up and have sandstream as its ability? Would then dig heal. Could leech life, gigadrain. Would need speed.

Would be cool to have similar moves and abilities like the effect of move Assist. That you could summon a stats move every turn.(druid grass starter deer or wolf) Use a chosen move of a fallen in battle pokemon.

Also weird that we never got a pokemon with poltergheist and possesion motive that could lets say make you steal your oponents pokemon for 3 turns. Maybe after fainting? Would be neat actually to get control over oponents pokes during battle.

It's not weird.

Bees don't have a parental bond, just a queen reproducing an army to serve her and her hive, so it makes perfect sense why they would not have that ability- they're not parents, they don't bond with their kids. Just use them.

And anything that lets you steal your opponent's pokemon during battle wouldn't even be fair. How would that work? Their pokemon faints and you take it and make their fainted pokemon battle for you? That's horrible. And if they hit their own pokemon (which is also horrible), who takes damage? Your pokemon or their fainted pokemon that you're puppeteering? If their pokemon faints (again) while you're using it, what happens? Does your pokemon faint? Or does it count as you having an additional pokemon for three turns, thus giving you a way unfair advantage over your opponent? Plus you're supposed to be the protagonist, what are you stealing someone's pokemon for? There is so much morally and functionally wrong with such a mechanic, so it's not weird at all that we don't have one.

I also think we need an orc of some sort. Probably Impidimp's evolution (if it isn't some kind of demon).

Also a Banshee.

Our new ghost faints and we could control oponents pokemon for 3 turns. Simple. Could be harder with move or when switching in taking control and after host fainted the ghost would battle in its own form then. Everytime it would switch out could do it again. Two possibilities. Both good. Both could be done. Impostor, Illusion, wonder guard and other moves to control oponent are there...
Its not unfair if Your pokemons ability controls it for 3 turns. Would be really for ghosts. Or for psychic or dark taking its nature. Actually they could create two weak pokemon with these. If someting normal pokemon (if ghost) , dark(if psychic) and mold breakers would be immune to this. Maybe even a new one stage ghost/poison? Or avoid immunities and moldbreaker bc it would be only 3 turns. Megas, z-moves and d-max/g-max moves are cool but this abilities would bring in strategy. Maybe Magic bounce could be here interesting?

Okay so the ghost faints and... it has an ability that controls the opponent's pokemon? So the opponent's pokemon gets snatched from their side of the field and moved to your side for three turns. And then you proceed to make your opponent beat up their own pokemon for three turns? What if that's their last pokemon?

The pokemon you took over faints and you give it back to your opponent so your ghost can keep battling in its own form- you now just made your opponent defeat their own pokemon and now they have to beat yours again? So you pretty much just temporarily added a seventh pokemon to your team while forcing your opponent to defeat their own pokemon so they only have five.

And to make it worse, every time you switch your ghost into battle- it does it again.

No, this idea is 100% broken and unfair to your opponent.

Not if its 3 turns, if there will be a type or abilities immune to this Like Magic Bounce.

Should a ghost be able to control other ghosts? then we could allow it to control normal type bc ghost would be immune? A bug/psychic could take over their minds but dark types would be immune to it. Then dark/ghost would be immune to both here if something.

(A psychic/poison also could get one or the other. Then dark and steel would be immune. This one would be legendary and could control pokemon via move till its host fainst.)

Dont say you dont want a Brain Switch ability for bug/psychic or Body Snatcher, Possesion, Poltergheist ability for a pure ghost type with those. If its the oponents last pokemon then maybe like dragontail no switching? Or auto winning or loosing battle if yourself have no pokemon? Also would be interesting what hapoens when You switch out a controlled pokemon. It goes back. The ghost would stay then on the battle field.

It is completely unfair, even for three turns. By stealing your opponent's pokemon, you have fucked them over for three turns and given yourself a completely unfair advantage. You took their pokemon, now they are down a pokemon for three turns and stuck defeating their own pokemon.

I do not want any ability that has me steal my opponent's pokemon under any circumstances because it is unfair, unbalanced, and potentially game breaking.

its fair bc you can try to switch it out then it comes back to you. Put to sleep. Freeze. Wait till effect goes off and it self auto returns. If your oponent self wants to switch early you get it back too. Its fair bc both trainers use same amount when they start. Its like a other way of doing damage... Aftermath, draining moves, healing, thats fair? Dont worry there could be a time passing ability that after 1 turn is counted as 3. Magic Bounce could block it.

If confused could get free and auto return? Maybe they could make the ghost get the exact damage counted when in the host?

Interesting would be if they woulf make them both and the in game and anime discussions between fans if it is. Seriously would be cool.

All you are proposing are moves to counteract it but if you don't have that you are unfairly screwed by your opponent stealing your pokemon for three turns and forcing you to defeat one of your own pokemon while your opponent still has all of theirs left for you to defeat. And you want the ghost to be able to do it each time it enters the battle- you could wittle away your opponent's team and not lose any of your pokemon just by making them defeat themselves for the entire battle. There is nothing that would make this idea balanced in any way- it gives the user an unfair advantage. Period.

Then without that it activates again after switching. But theoretically if it would be slow and not best with hp then how fast would it even switch out of battle? Baton pass and u-turn work without priority. Also to switch out it woud need to worry if getting trapped bc trapping from binding, move or ability shadow tag, arena trap would still affect it too after host faints.
Perish song would work on both host and controller. Curse from a ghost type also would be on controler(user) and host till they switch out. Hmm always there is protect, healing, disable, strategies to stall it.

One hit ko moves would only hurt host if something. The controller(new ghost pokemon) would be immune to explosion but not to Aftermath. Also status conditions would be pssed on. Maybe even putting to sleep would be the best option to use stats move and switch out to a strategy when 3turn ends. Then you could hit the ghost when it sleeps. The switching would be cool bc our ghost could have weak total stats.

Fair advantage if done right. You could trap it with fire spin, use protect 2 times and then after yours come back then finish it. More strategical pokemon game then pure power.

The oponent would have lost one pokemon if its a bug/psychic that after fainting would gain control for 3 turns... If its the ghost then 1 would be on the field in body of the host. If that would be the case and both would be last pokemon of each trainer then maybe its ability would not work.

I'm pretty sure Meltan will be this pokemon that you are referencing.

I doubt they’re doing that with a mechanic which isn’t even confirmed to be in the next Generation. Specially since the Dynamax thingy is even more rooted in Galar than Z-Moves to Alola.

They could just not have that pokemon in any future game ever... TT
