Well, if we go by the tradition that Habunake mentioned then it is reasonable to predict that TV Tokyo will air movie nine that week. If so then May will appear, even though it isn't anything new.
Come to think of it, they aired movie 6 in December and the Japanese didn't get to see Mastermind until after DP began. So May has actually shown up more than Misty since September '06 even if you include the fishing lure as a cameo.

Yeah, but reruns don't count. To be honest, I wonder if the writers count the Misty lure eps (in BF and Buizel) as "appearances" for her.
Not counting Mastermind, Misty hasn't even been shown in nearly 80-90 episodes now. Battle Frontier was about 65 eps + about 38 eps of D/P so far = nearly 90 eps since she was last shown.
Is it just me, or did the writers give Ash the Misty lure simply to count that as "a Misty cameo" rather than properly showcasing her from time to time? At this rate, who knows when she'll show up in Sinnoh, if that's still meant to happen.

heh... since you brought it up earlier, the 10th movie IS just right around the corner. THANK GOD!!! For the past, what? Half a year? We've seen spoilers of the party's Pokemon, and with the revelation that Hikari would get Buizel not long afterwards (as much as several people wanted to deny it), we KNEW Satoshi would still have the same crappy party with absolutely no alterations, as it's been since Mukubird's evolution way back in episode 13, all the way until the movie's release. Hopefully now we can start seeing some episode titles announced which imply a new capture and/or evolution on his team (fuck, back when it was believed that Aipom would learn a new attack in the first contest, I was hoping for Double Hit... turns out it was a mistranslation or something -_-).
