After a set of initial teaser images on the official Pokémon social channels, The Pokémon Company International has now officially unveiled Grafaiai, a brand new Pokémon that can be found in the Paldea region of Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet. These new games will be launching worldwide this November 18th, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.

Grafaiai is a moody Pokémon with a fastidious disposition. It doesn’t form packs, preferring to roam alone, and it is constantly caught up in territorial struggles with other Pokémon.

This Pokémon specializes in using its poisonous saliva to attack foes, either by spitting at them, or by slashing at them after coating its claws with the saliva. When it senses danger, the poison in this saliva quickly becomes highly concentrated, resulting in a potent toxin that will immobilize a victim for three whole days once it has been absorbed.

Grafaiai is nocturnal, and once the sun sets it licks its hands and fingers to cover them in poison, using them to draw patterns on the trees in its territory. Grafaiai's saliva changes color depending on what the Pokémon has eaten. This poisonous saliva has a sweet, fragrant scent, which draws in Bug Pokémon before leaving them paralyzed. Grafaiai then moves to collect any incapacitated prey as dawn draws near.
