With Pokemon Sun and Moon coming up as well as the upcoming release of the Sun and Moon anime, it’s a time for us to be excited. Along with the excitement of the news comes with speculation as well. These discussions are wonderful, but there are incidents in which tempers flare, and debates get rather heated. Recently we’ve had an influx of such incidents. Here on Bulbagarden Forums, we strive to make our users feel welcome. We also want to keep the environment as tension-free as possible, and so, in order to nip these situations in the bud as well as keep the community drama free, here are some tips to help you make the most of your experience.

1. Report any rule-breaking posts. Don’t step in and try to diffuse the situation on your own. It’s better to contact the moderators of the section if you feel there’s a post that requires action.

2. Use the ignore function.
You can click on a user’s profile and there should be an option for ‘ignore’. Doing so will enable it so you can hide posts from view of the user you’ve blocked. This is especially helpful if you are found annoyed by user’s posts but they aren’t breaking any rules, they will be hidden from view.

3. When you feel you are getting too into a heated debate or even in an argument, sometimes it’s best to take a step back and let it go. That is one of the hardest things to do, but sometimes it’s the most effective.

When dealing with situations that are troubling, sometimes the best solution is to ignore them all together and try to push for more pleasant conversation.
