What? What do you mean? Robin asked in her head.

The girl had seemed to have calmed herself down as she now lay still with her eyes closed for the first time since she was put into isolation without being sedated or electrocuted to unconsciousness .

Colt smiled gently as he looked at Metz. "I'll make her a bit more comfortable." He muttered, gently picking her up and moving her to a couch in the corner of the room. He quickly tucked the sleeping girl in under a blanket and gently moved her head onto a pillow. "That's better I think." He said to Aya before sitting back down and getting to work trying to pick up the ancient tongue before it was too late.

Aya nodded, looking back down to the text. She needed to figure out something, and fast. Things were accelerating toward ruin, and she was sure that the road ahead was to be even more arduous.

But, one thing was for certain; although she, herself, hadn't fought a Harbinger yet, the next battle with them would be a climatic one.

--

When Rose and Kat walked through another set of doors, the former spoke. "You have a point. Whatever is ahead will require that we all bring out absolute best... however, I'm not the one that needs convincing of that. Trust me."

"The... end... my siblings... are... crying..." the voice responded to Robin. "My siblings... are... crying..."

Inside of her head, mental images began to spread throughout her mind. A fallen city, with a smoke and ash-filled sky raining fire. Gigantic figures stalked the lands, pushing over buildings, all converging onto one place. At that very place, there was a lone figure standing atop a mound of dead bodies.

The entire vision, itself, was blurry; difficult to make out anything from it.

Dusk, having gotten out of the hospital bed, had taken to sitting around the rooftops of the Null building. She normally did that when she felt like being alone.

This time, however, she wasn't alone. Clutching her drink, she spoke to Drew. "Why do you this stuff...?"

(Just as most things in this arc, this is independent of the rest.)

Sayloren looked around, seemingly still speaking. The expression on her face was that of obvious frustration.

All Sky had to do was reach out and touch her.
@White Raven;

"Perhaps," Ripred didn't push the issue any further, lest he risk revealing too much. "You want this nuisance taken care of. Is that correct?"
@Midorikawa;

Drew was a little confused, about her question. "Do you mean why i work for Null? Or do you mean why am i nice to you?" Drew asked, "My answer for both are radically different depending on what your asking."

Dusk was silent for a moment before speaking again. "Both."

"Um.. Birdie?" Sky called, putting a hand on her shoulder and shaking her gently. "Is that really you?"

Sayloren's eyes glowed a bit, before turning around quickly. "Sky?! Sky!!" Sayloren wasted no time in hugging her. Her body, however, felt different - almost as if she wasn't truly there. But, she stopped flickering in and out of existence the moment she wrapped her arms around Skyress.

Drew paused a bit, staring off into the view the roof top before answering.

"I serve Null simply out of obligation. I have friends who i count on, rely on, and accept me. I don't serve Null for the sake of serving the organization. I couldn't care less about them. I serve the people who I built my world upon, the people i hold precious to my heart. And if they happen to serve Null, i'll serve Null as well." Drew explained. "And honestly, i consider you a friend to. I kinda see a little bit of my self in you... I never told anyone at Null this, but my ability awakened when i was a little kid. Part of that ability was the ability to perceive the aura of others, and the thoughts of things that wouldn't otherwise be heard. Back then, when i tried telling people what these voices were saying, they all treated me like a freak, i was an outcast. Everyone thought i was insane, and for awhile, i honestly believed them. Then a few months ago, a renegade group hunted me down, and asked if i could join them. They told me my ability was special, and that were things only I could do, so i willingly and gladly joined them. And for the first time in my life, i had friends. I'm not sure if your loneliness is less or more severe then my own, so i wanted you to at least know, that even if you have no one else to count on, i know what your pain is like, and that you don't have to be alone anymore."

Dusk stared at Drew for a moment, stunned into silence. She didn't speak for a moment before talking again. "Y-you... talk too much..." She seemed to be trembling a bit when she said this, looking down at her can of soda.

Sky was a bit stunned by the action, but eventually returned the embrace. Tears threatened to break from her eyes as she felt many emotions churn from within.

"It's you.. It's really you, Birdie.." she mumbled, a faint smile ghosting her features.

"Sorry." Drew smiled.

He noticed her trembling while looking down at her soda.

"Sorry, did I say something to upset you?" He asked, a little concerned.

"Yes. So do we have a deal? You take care of my little pain, and I'll not only help you out with things you need, but also tell you plenty of information about being a riftborn," she said before leaning in close to his ear. "Plus you get me for more than jsit fighting and soldiers," she whispered.

"No... I'm fine," Dusk clenched her can a bit, looking back to him. "Thank you. I needed to hear that," she said, smiling back to him a bit. It seemed a bit hard to do for her - it was clear that it was the first time in a while she'd done it.

--

Sayloren kissed Sky on the cheek, pulling away from her but not letting her friend go. "I found you, I finally found you!" She hugged the girl again. "God, I missed you so much!"

--

The briefing room's door opened while everyone was inside. However, the person who stepped in wasn't Rose. No, it was someone much different.

No, it was a man - one with milk brown hair, layered and pulled into a ponytail; icy blue eyes sharp as he stepped into the room. Dressed in very dapper militant attire, he carried with him a rapier and an assault rifle. Behind him, many armed soldiers and a few officials were walking; among them were Kale, Nolan and Kalus.

"Attention! Salute, Lieutenant Commander Rose!" One of the soldiers yelled. All of the others turned at attention, holding their guns in the air while they stood motionless.

The Lieutenant Commander stopped in front of the group. "Good evening, soldiers. My name is Victor Rose, Lieutenant Commander of Null's armed forces," he bowed to them. "Pleasure to meet you all. And to see you once again, Agent Noir."

Sky was taken aback by the kiss, though managed to keep a smile on her face. "I thought you..you know.." She began, not wanting to mention that she had died before.

"Why are you here, though?"

Adam groaned slightly as he saw Victor Rose walk inside. He would've at least wanted Rose to be the one to brief them since at least she wouldn't be so quick in making him feel like a total screw up for something he already knew he had done wrong. Regardless he stood up and saluted the liutenant, though hi still kept his frown. "It's nice to see you once more as well Lt. Rose," he stated as respectfully as he could.

Drew couldn't help but give Dusk a smile back.

"Things must be pretty tough for you. You don't have to talk about it if you don't want to, but just know, if you need someone's shoulder to cry on, or someone to help make you smile, you can count on me, okay?" Drew said.

"Thanks, Drew..." Dusk replied, smiling a bit but still not looking at him. As far as she was concerned, she needed to keep her face covered.

--

Ripred smirked a bit at her proposition. "I do believe we have a deal, Ms. Fuhrer."

Standing near the veranda, Nyx watched the two of them through wary eyes. She was more than a little distrustful of Fuhrer, but making that apparent would have the potential to ruin things for Ripred. And she couldn't do that.

No, she truly couldn't.

--

Lt. Rose eyed the group before speaking once more. "I will brief you all today on your mission - the mission that has been handed down to you all from the General Locke, herself."

He nodded to a scientist, who typed on the computer. A large projection appeared on the table for the occupants of the room. "The information we've been given on the Harbingers thus far by Agent Nascire has been processed. So, with this information, our investigations have given us various leads into their actions. First and foremost; they are currently under the control of someone - this person has not been identified as of right now. However, we have two prime suspects..."

Images popped up on the screen. The first was of Ripred. "The warlord, named 'Ripred'," another was a picture of Kane. "The leader of a Riftwalker gang division, known as 'Kane'," and the final picture was of Andromeda. "And the suspected Riftborne lynchpin, named 'Andromeda'. The two of them are to be apprehended at any cost by Null soldiers, who are now working in heavy patrol units."

He stopped for a moment, not turning. "However, I believe Interrogation Head Agent Rose, and her prisoner, will give you more information."

Rose stood at the door of the room with Kat. It took all she could to suppress the glare threatening to come on her face at the sight of Victor, but she spoke. "Thank you... Lt. Rose."

Adam wasn't surprised when both Ripred and Kane appeared on the screens, considering they had already dealt with Ripred before and he had seen Kane summon Pandora at the docks. However he felt his face fall completely as he noticed Andromeda's picture appear, trying his best to not show that he was actually troubled by the reveal but most likely failing at it. He noticed Rose walking int othe room and bowed his head politely.

Kat chuckled at the use of 'prisoner' to describe her current status. The Lieutenant Commander couldn't be more wrong, but if it made Kat's life easier, she would play the part. "The harbingers are not under command of either of those... disgusting creatures." She spat bitterly. "My siblings wouldn't debase themselves by working for a criminal and... one of those disgusting things." Kat frowned. "The other Harbingers are working with my mentor Cezalle, who is fearsome in combat. He has the power to manipulate the Nether as well as being the best swordsman on the planet." She grinned. "Luckily for you, his two best pupils will be on your side during all this, they being myself and your wolf." Kat looked out at the assembled group. "I'm not going to lie to you, it's very possible that we all die in this. Because one other thing to note about the Harbingers is the exponential power increase that you were all briefed on. And it is very likely that every one of my siblings will be there at once. It will be a sight to behold."

"Well then since that's settled. I'm bored of dancing. How about we do something a bit more fun," Fuehrer purred.

`````````
Marissa listened carefully, and rolled her eyes at Kat. She really didn't like her attitude. "But that means that the leader of them is this Riprid guy then right? Since you didn't deny him as it, then it's possible he is in charge of them," she spoke up. "And it's possible the three are working together as well."
````````````

Ares watched as the frisbee flew through the air and into the mouth of his guardian. The hell hound like guardian began running back as he checked his phone for the umpteenth time. No messages from his mother about 'helping out her elderly friend.' He had gotten in pretty close with the riftborn but it was still a pain to try to do anything without them watching every move. And he was trying to meet up with Aya without having them follow. While Andry could meet with Adam freely, that was because she was trusted. He on the other hand was still scrutinized by the others, and watched. Jasper was the most accepting, as was Marquess.

Of course both had been rather recluse for the past few days. Jasper actually seemed anxious, but no one would say what happened. The two males were tight lipped, and it was pissing Ares off. He was just getting anxious at this point. First with the tight lip act, and secondly with Aya. Why did she have to be a pain when he needed her to not to be one?

He felt something hit his feet, and once again tossed the frisbee. He messaged his mother about the helping out again, however she suggested dropping it. Of course because she didn't want to bother Aya. If it was anyone else it would have annoyed him, but it was his mother so he was fine. He just had to figure out another way.
