"It's Italian food of course I like it," Nicol pointed out with a laugh as he finished his plate. "I always relly enjoyed it since I was a kid."

"Now now, calm down," Adam pointed out, pocketing his hands. "It's not good to randomly kill people."

Colt smiled at this. "I'm a Harbinger. I'm pretty sure that's near the top of the job description." He noted dryly.

"It's given me some more freedom," Sayloren responded. "I'm able to do things like follow people around. Can't stray too far from my nexus point, though," she said, looking at Sky with a smile.

"Of course not." Sky could feel herself hiding a slight smirk, before it returning to a warm smile.

"Occasionally. I've more or less stopped caring" Jett replied, taking another sip from his drink as he spoke.

"Oh, so you're an experienced Italian food eater?" Robin asked him after swallowing her last mouthful of her dish.

Inside of a hotel in Paris, France, the hallways were clear. The only person walking through its halls was a man donned in hoodie. Hands in his pockets, he strolled down the empty lobby. In his wake, the lightbulbs above him broke. It was an aftereffect of things, he knew.

He stopped, knocking on the room door. He knew Kane would be in there; he saw it happen. The expression he had on under his hoodie was one of cordial seriousness. "Knock, knock," he said in a British accent. "Harbinger Room Service!"

--

Aya took another sip from her own drink. "Well then, that's good. Past insecurities suck major dick," she pushed herself from the shrub. "Walk with me, newbie."

"Unfortunately, I can't say the same for you all..." Sayloren said to Sky. "The Solstice is a strange event. I'm seeing lots of crazy stuff happening over here. Lots of weird... fluctuations. The Ether's creepy enough as it is. But, sometimes the place pulsates. Whatever the hell it is, it's something huge. The ghosts are in a frenzy, trying to kill-" she disappeared in an instant, being cut off mid-sentence.

"..Birdie? Birdie..?" Sky's smile quickly faded away as the ghost vanished immediately. Shaking her head, she got up and left the room. She had never seen her deceased friend disappear against her will, which immensely worried her. Trying to clear her mind, her face contorted into a serious concentration as she tried to figure out what would cause such a thing. Moreso, what did Birdie mean by the last sentence? Ghosts were starting to kill who? Humans? Each other? Either option was just as bad - either way, her intense focus had caused her to lose self-awareness; Sky was very likely to bump into someone.

Aya bumped into Sky, nearly spilling her drink. "Whoa, sis, calm down. What's up?"

Kan heard the knock on the door, having been sitting by the terrace of his room loverlooking the city, a book in hand. He closed the book slightly before standing up from his sit, buttoning up his white dress shirt before walking over to the door and opening. "Hello there, how may I help you?"

***

"Well I've never had genuine italian cooking from italy," Nicol shrugged.

***

"Still," Adam shrugged. "Wouldn't wanna carry that burden."

Robin laughed at this. "So should we order some genuine Italian dessert now?" She asked him.

"No. No you would not..." Colt trailed off when he heard Aya speak. Sighing, he poked his head out into the hall. "It's the Solstice." He said, frowning at the thought. "It's a rather special time... and it causes rather... severe imbalances among the greater powers on this realm of existence." A rather vague explanation.

"Ah.. Sorry. Just... Thinking. Nothing to worry about..." Sky forced a smile, which could've been passed as a real one, except for the fact that her fiery golden eyes reflected worry, dread, and maybe pain. Her bangs shadowed her face as she mumbled a few words that, only those in close proximity, would hear.

"Ghosts are killing who? Why is the Solstice affecting Birdie.. and the rest of the Ether, for that fact..?"

"I don't know the 'why' answers to those questions." Colt admitted sheepishly as he stepped out. "But I do know that the Solstice is a... special time of year. Everything is thrown out of balance. And I do mean everything." He sighed. "It's a big mess."

By the time Colt had offered his explanation of the events, Sky was long out of earshot. During times like these, she often went outside at nighttime and took off into the dark sky. It, in a way (beside beating up a poor punching bag), helped to clear her mind.

Aya had heard Sky's words, but said nothing. In fact, she didn't even stop her sister when she decided - like always - to simply fly away. She looked to Jett. "Good talk," she said. Walking to Adam and Colt, she nodded to the former and gave the latter a kiss on the cheek. "Heading to my room," she was very clearly weary and annoyed, as evident by the sudden calmness she had as she walked away to her room.

Frowning, Colt followed Aya into their room. "You okay?" He asked her quietly once they had their privacy.

Stretching her wings, Sky took off and into the starless sky above. Venice's docks were nothing but specks as she kept ascending, her silhouette turning the otherwise jade phoenix a shade of black. So, as she rode on a strong current of freezing wind at a high altitude, she disposed of her thoughts for the moment and just soared above Italy in wide arcs.

"Huh? Yeah. Yeah, I'm fine. Yep. All good here," Aya said to Colt, picking up a bottle on the nightstand. "Man, these are some cheap beers."
