"They're like high class magic tricks," Adam pointed out with a mocking sageful voice. "The very next level and stuff," he shrugged turning towards Aya. "Come on, you don't really believe this whole string thing right?" he whispered to the woman.

"Listen. I don't know if you'll call us crazy or not, but I'm willing to bet that your little parlor tricks there are more than just illusion..." Aya looked at the tinfoil. "Mostly cause that thing's magnetic field has no disruption in it. So there's no string attached."

She ran a hand through her hair, looking back at Colt. "So, it's cool to be honest with us. I swear we're not gonna judge or anything."

Colt chuckled dryly, amused at the whole thing now. "You two have fun talking magic tricks with your new friend." Colt said before getting in the car. "I'm going to head over to the auto parts store, I'll be back to pick you kids up." He said before gunning the engine and heading out.

Winnie eyed the group suspiciously. "How did you know?" she asked, watching Colt leave the parking lot.

"We know how to do 'magic', too. Just like you," Aya said, looking back at Colt.

"Nice form," Sayloren commented on Sky's aiming. "Little shakey, though. Is this spooky ghost scaring you? BoOoOoOoO~"

"Do you think giving me a heart attack is funny?" She growled, narrowing her eyes. She raised the gun once more, firing at the moving targets in rapid succession.

"A little bit - you're so susceptible to it that it's funny, really," Sayloren kicked her feet in the air. "Besides, you need to loosen up a bit..." She smirked, landing down. "Perhaps, with a little massage," she said. From behind Sky, the girl's body had become solidified. Because they were alone in the range, she was able to appear, putting her hands on Sky's shoulders.

"Boo."

She had been able to take out all the moving targets with ease, but when she felt the pair of hands on her shoulders (not to mention hearing Birdie's voice suddenly closer), she flinched and was unable to concentrate.

"N-ngh.." Birdie would feel the Riftwalker's muscles grow taut with a high amount of tension. The tip of the sniper rifle slumped down, Sky's grip beginning to tremble once more. She wasn't sure why the other girl had such an effect on her, but she knew it was impossible to shoot targets with Birdie breathing down her neck.

Sayloren grinned, leaning closer. "What's wrong, Sky? You can't say hello?"

Robin sat on the sofa in the living room, her eyes narrowed as she manoeuvred Larry through the finak lap of rainbow road, playing Mario Kart 8. Getting the game 3 days ago, Robin had been in the living room in her pajamas ever since with a blue blanket covering her and with ll the lights off, the only light source coming from the TV.

"Come on Larry, come on Larry...DAMMIT DONKEY KONG! No no no..." she moaned as Larry fell off the track, she burying herself in the blanket after the realisation that she had lost the race.

"A-ah.." Sky struggled to speak, feeling her face ignite in a blush (much to her dismay). She was quick to set the sniper rifle down, trembling so much that she'd thought that it would fall out of her hands regardless. Doing her best to regain her composure, she clenched the ledge before her in an iron grip to steady herself.

"S-shut up, it's n-not my fault y-you're causing m-me to react l-like this..." She managed to say, though it was clear she was barely holding it together.

"Yeah, we can do cool things like this," Adam said, holding his palm out so only Winnie could see before creating a small ball of shadows on the palm of his hand and making it float.

Robin are you sure your eyes are still working right?" Nicol asked as he walked into the living room, looking at the girl with slight worry as she had been playing with quite a while. "You gotta shower and stuff," he commented, walking over and waving his hand in front of the girl.

"Hmm," Winnie mused; her cover had been blown, but she had some solace in knowing they were fellow Riftwalkers. "Since you have this 'magic', who do you work for?"

"We work for Null," Adam stated, a bit surprised to find out that Winnie hadn't actually made that association. "We deal with taking care of the rifts that pop up and...other matters, at least that's the short version of it," he explained casually.

"Oh. Null," Winnie said. "I figured," she added with a hint of disgust.

Rose shook her head. "You talk too much. It's only us here, boy," she said, leaning back in her chair. "Honestly, if I had a nickel for every person who swore that Null was big brother incarnate, I wouldn't need this job."

She leaned forward. "So, let me give you a little thing here. I'm here because I'm supposed to arrest and detain you for interrogation. However, I'm a nice lady. So, I'm going to put you on probation."

--

Aya didn't mind Winnie's reaction to the mention of Null, stepping forward. "Ayana Nascire, captain of this little group," she held out her hand, giving Winnie a small smile. "Pleasure to meet you..." She left it open for Winnie to introduce herself.

--

"I think it is your fault," Sayloren replied, obviously thoroughly enjoying herself. "You're just so sensitive..." she punctuated this by continuing her actions.

"The name's Winnie. Winifred Brennan," she greeted. "It's always cool to meet fellow Riftwalkers," she then mused. "Even if you're part of Null. I prefer doing my own thing, as you can probably tell."

"I don't blame you for it at all," Adam replied in understanding, having been someone that also used to just go around on his own, though not exactly doing the right thing either. "Winnie...interesting name."

"So you expect me to come with you then? Back to Null." Drew asked sourly, the cold in his eyes undeniable. "While the very thought annoys me, i suppose i have little choice in the matter."
