Adam raised an eyebrow at this before beginning to walk after her. "Why? it's not like I'm doing anything bad, I'm just trying to see what our enemy is like," he stated before stepping in front of her. "Are you really going to throw our friendship away just for that boss?"
"You have amazing resolve. Honestly I think the only reason I do this is for other riftwalkers," she leaned her head back on the couch, staring up at the ceiling.
Colt nodded at this. "That is what they say... you don't fight for some vague concept... but for the guys and girls in the field next to you." He said, referring to his teammates. "And I think it's part resolve, part guilt."
"Oh, don't give me that crap Adam," Aya shook her head, moving to push past him. "I'm not throwing away shit. I just don't wanna hear about you banging people who kill innocents for shits and giggles."
Colt chuckled at this. "I can't remember the last time I spent any real time... or any real social interaction... with non-walkers." He admitted a bit sheepishly. "Null will do that to you I think."
Adam sighed, rubbing the back of his head for a moment. "I haven't done anything like that for the record," he added as he walked behind her. "And I was only informing you cause I didn't want to hide it from you. Listen, I'm old enought o know there's two sides to one story, all I want is to get the other side," he pointed out, pocketing his hands. "If it seems like they really are as bad as they seem then I'll pull back, but to be honest I just feel like there's more to this someone."
He didn't know how to explain himself properly, but after talking to Andromeda back at the dinner and spending time with her he knew that the riftborne weren't all sociopaths like Null kept telling them, Ares joined them after all, something Adam knows he wouldn't have done if they were all bad. "I'm sorry if I sound rude I really am, and I do apologize if it sounded like I was showing off but I just didn't want to keep this from you, you're the only person with autorithy over me that I'll actually trust."
"Honestly? You would've been better off not telling me about this. Cause now, it's up in the air if I can trust you," between he and Ares cavorting with the Riftborne, she didn't know what to believe by this point. "So if you want to salvage tonight, I would stop talking."
Sky sighed, watching the full moon and blinking stars in the night. It was as if they were mocking her for her failure to save Sayloren from the clutches of death. Seeing her as a Sentient might as well have broken her, even if she didn't show it. Letting out a frustrated sigh, her jaded wings unfurled from her back, yet remained folded. Aya would surely kill her if she shut down their electricity. Jumping down from the edge of the roof, she opened her giant wings and caught the wind current, transforming in mid-air as she flew into the darkness ahead.
Metzli trudged, movements jerky as she descended into her house. It took all her willpower to put the deadbolt on the door, and then all reason snapped like a twig within her. The curse took over; the cabin in the woods seemed to shudder a bit as the puppet-like girl was sent into a blood-seeking frenzy, though no real damage had been caused by her mini-rampage. It took a few hours for her to finally calm down, collapsing on the cold floor of the bleak room.
Ares not having gotten a reply from Aya in a bit assumed she was mad at him. So in an attempt to make it up to her he figured a poem he found online might help.
A Night With My Lady
Her body glistens in the light
I urge to play with her all night
I pick her up and hold her steady
Take a deep breath, we both are ready.
I run one hand up her long neck
Just touching her makes me euphoric
Across her body, my right hand goes
I've been practicing, believe me, it shows.
Her body glistens in the light
I urge to play with her all night
I pick her up and hold her steady
Take a deep breath, we both are ready.
Another deep breath, the tension mounts
Have to stay focused, every moment counts
I am ready lets get movin'
Here it goes, we both start groovin'.
Her body glistens in the light
I urge to play with her all night
I pick her up and hold her steady
Take a deep breath, we both are ready.
I start out slow to get in the swing
As I do she starts to sing
The sounds and feelings grow more immense
The movements, become more intense.
Her body glistens in the light
I urge to play with her all night
I pick her up and hold her steady
Take a deep breath, we both are ready.
She screams and screams, while I am gropin'
My heart stops as I see the door open
My mom walks in and with a frown
Says, Your guitar is too loud, please turn it down.
Adam stared at Aya's back for a moment, clenching his fists slightly before letting out a sigh. "Whatever you say boss," he nodded his head before turning completely around. "But I'm just saying, that just like I was given a second chance, some could some of them, you can trust me or not, but I can one hundred percent assure you that I'd rather kill myself before attacking you." he muttered as he began to make his way towards the beer cooler.
...So we good? You're not mad at me anymore because if you still are then I'll find more funny poems. That or write one myself if that's what it takes.
Robin shifted uncomfortably on Colt, a scowl and a look of pain on her face.
"Falk I didn't stay up all night let alone the entire week. No Falk, I wasn't screaming in pain. Yes Falk, I'm feeling alright. Yes Falk, I do believe you will do well in your yugioh tournament. No Falk, my ability and back is fine. No Falk there's no holes in my bed or room..." She muttered in her sleep, sounding somewhat annoyed and in pain.
She then started to shift around Colt faster, clenching her fist. Unknown to the others, her back had silver and black thick veins coursing around her and her eyes were completely silver. Robin was deep in her sleep, and had the habit of talking back to people subconsciously in her sleep if asked a look question by them while sleeping.
Aya took the bottle, looking down at it. Honestly, she didn't need another one... but what the hell, it was a party. "Thanks," she opened it, before looking over to the people. Everyone seemed to be socializing, so that was good. Walking over to Colt, she gave him a peck on the cheek before whispering. "Going out on the balcony for a minute if you need something," her slurring was more pronounced
She turned and walked toward Adam. "I'm heading to the balcony. Join me there if you want," she walked out of the main room, heading to the back where the balcony was. It was refreshing to be outside, especially during a time of leisure.
