Obscure Pokémon anime trivia

The term "Mythical Pokémon" has actually existed as a separate thing from the term "Legendary Pokémon" since the beginning its Japanese. It's just that the term wasn't officially translated until Gens IV (where it was incorrectly used about Dialga and Palkia) and V, so western people have a less easy time identifying as what it's meant to be: a category of special Pokémon separate yet similar to Legendary Pokémon.
Ahhhhhhhhh all this time I'd been wondering why I never understood this legendary/mythical split, or that it was different from what I had thought it was. I didn't realise that it only came to the fore (incorrectly at that) during DP in the English fandom...

Again, no. It’s only very vaguely defined. So it’s not necessarily “separate” from Legendary. More specifically, the two are not necessarily mutually exclusive.

The entire market/place where Ash, Iris, Cilan and Alexa have Ice Cream in BW140 reappears in an entire new design in JN015. Good Worldbuilding. This should be added to the Episode Trivia Page on Bulbapedia.

It's mainly cuz some names can sound dificult to say/understand in other languagues. Like how ''Ash'' was the translation they chose for Satoshi, even in the US version.

And if you're br you may now why the name KUKUI wouldn't have worken...
Okay, but thing is, this's never been done until SM. Some city names got translated in the past such as Goldenrod City becoming Quinhao Dourado back in Jouto, and I remember people complaining back in the day. Or Birch becoming Betula for a couple of episodes in Houen, but that's it. All main and side characters always kept their English names, like always.

Besides Kukui is not really hard to pronounce. And no way Kiawe (a name they decided to keep) is easier to say than, let's say, Lana, who became Vitoria.

In the same vein, if you compare the Pewter City Pokémon Center design from episode 5 of season 1 and episode 38 of Journeys, you'll see they're pretty dang consistent, despite there being over a thousand episodes in between them.

Not counting the Pokemon Trainer Red, The Pokemon that you see in Smash Bros are same ones who played recurring and/or major roles in the anime

Pikachu - Obviously
Jigglypuff - The same Jigglypuff who stalked Ash & co in the OS
Mewtwo - The same one the 1st Movie
Lucario - The same Lucario from Lucario and the Mystery of Mew
Pichu - Pichu Big (The Oldest Pichu of the Pichu Brothers)
Greninja - Ash's Greninja (Even right down to the exact same VA)
Incineroar - Kukui's Incineroar (Again Same VA included )

The way the Flare arc unfolds and particularly how it concludes has very blatant shades of Team Plasma from the original Black & White games, which is pretty obvious indication that it’s essentially what the Anime Staff originally had planned for Team Plasma in Best Wishes prior to the Earthquake & Black 2 & White 2′s interference (Alain = N, Mairin = Anthea & Concordia, Lysandre = Ghetsis, Xerosic = Colress, etc.)

It could totally see this being the case indeed.

Now going for what'd happen to Trio and Sakaki in the skipped two-parter, I'm pretty sure happened in those Meloetta episodes. Sakaki and the rest of the Rockets'd retreat back to Kanto and Trio'd congratulate Satoshi's Pikachu and remember the reason they wanted him so much.

The kids in XY were drawn with more heads (the measure artists usually use when designing characters), so yeah they looked taller indeed. But why Satoshi had a bigger height in XY, as in numbers, makes no sense to me since styles can be changed while keeping similar proportion between characters.

Naegi Makoto kept his 160 cm height in Danganronpa 3 while looking much taller than in the games for example.

Contrary to Public Opinion, Sun & Moon Satoshi actually looks taller than XY Satoshi or as just as equal if you put their designs side-by-side. The aesthetic thing is, if someone wears horizontal stripes on their shirt, it makes them look more chubbier & fatter which is the case with Sun & Moon Ash. XY Ash was just drawn as much more leaner which helps him look taller.
