Actually, it does not.

Many Western Pokemon Fans are preparing themself to see the movie on that date, especially since the actual time of dayrelease also matters. If they go with evening in the USA, its already Saturday for Europe and Japan and they don't bring out a trailer on a Saterday anyways. There is the chance many people who are in line to watch the movie, are gonna miss out on the trailer, meaning the trailer doesn't get as much hype and coverage and i think this is something Gamefreak and Nintendo wanna avoid.

The Japanese text, assuming it's legitimate, is saying that this trailer will be attached to the movie itself; i.e. people wouldn't miss out on it by seeing the film; they'd have to see the film to see it. (Though I'm sure an online version would release that day too.)

Again...that's assuming it's real.

Interesting if 2 forms were fire/dragon, fire/flying then what now fire/steel? Or fire/ghost? Steel would make sense. Fire/steel with levitate.

The 20th anniversary was three years ago, dude.
As a after gift for those Z rumors. People wanted 3forms. Wanted megas to work different thats maybe why they came up with armors. People also wanted. Blastoise and Venusaur secondary forms like Charizard. If gen 1 and 8 get armors then gen 2 and 4 may get megas? Could be done like gen 6 and reboot gen 3 was done in the past.

It has always puzzled me why Johto seemed to be the red-headed stepchild of the Pokemon regions.

It's also old enough for a lot of the older fans to be nostalgic for it, right? I feel like a lot of people who were on board for gen 1 and 2 fell off around 3 or 4...

I'd love to see some Johto related celebration (i'd really love some regional variants...), half of my all time favorite Pokemon designs are from Gen 2, the breeding mechanic, held items, and the day/night cycle are some of the best new features that were ever brought to the series, and the HGSS remakes made the region itself look really stunning. It had some really lovely musical compositions and remixes of Kanto tracks as well, I really don't see what's not to like (okay, the funky level scaling and some of the new Pokemon only being found in Kanto in the post game are potential knocks against it, but overall the Johto games were extremely solid)

I'm wondering what would happen if Johto wasn't geographically connected to Kanto at all and was instead its own full region. Didn't really help that you essentially traveled to Kanto again so that really stole quite a bit of Johto's thunder, so to speak...

Well, Johto was going to be based on all of Japan, with Kanto being just a messy city (if you have time, google Kanto's Spaceworld map to see how bad). Also, not only traveling to Kanto stole Johto's thunder:

  • Kanto Pokémon were way more common.
  • Half the Johto Gym Leaders' main Pokémon were from Kanto.
  • Kanto was bigger, to the point you spend more time there than you ever spent in Johto.
  • The Elite Four was in Kanto with 3 out of 5 opponents being returning characters
  • Will and Karen are mostly ignored in the franchise (e.g.: they didn't appear in the anime at all nor were mentioned at all).
  • Elm having no presence at all in the game. Kinda justified, since he looks like he was a late addition to the game (Blue and Oak were the ones that originally gave you a starter).
  • Red and Blue coming back, with Red being the first super boss of the Pokémon franchise (the second and so far only other super boss is Steven in Emerald).
  • Three evolutionary lines are technically Kanto Pokémon (Slugma line, Houndour line and Murkrow).
  • There are almost no reference to characters from Johto in the other games of the franchise.
Come on GF, throw Johto a bone.

I doubt HeartGold and SoulSilver could be surpassed as remakes.
And that's a scientific, empirical fact. (y)

Honestly, I think ORAS could've been an even better remake than HGSS, but Game Freak totally blew it, by excluding everything that makes Emerald the perfect Hoenn game.

So I think HGSS will remain the best Pokémon remake.

Yo we in here professing our love for Heart Gold/Soul Silver? Let me in on that. That's my jam and what got me to come back to pokemon after not finishing gen 3 and skipping gen 4.

And add me to team 'do not give Mewtwo / Charizard any more forms'. Charizard Y should have been the only Charizard Mega Evolution (X, while finally giving it a dragon typing, seriously looks like the stone and evolution were made artificially like I'd guess Mewtwo's were since X looks nothing like its previous forms while all pokemon resemble their regular forms when they mega evolve).

Plus I just have a natural distaste for any more battle gimmicks in general.
