Also, Pokemon Generations had most Pokemon sound like animals.
Oriden already put example how foxes sound like, and Delphox even sound close to one, just that it's voice is high pitchedSo why couldn't Delphox be part of that handful?
Cause that's part of how they determine genders in this show. You see this example plenty of times...okay calling that cry feminine is insulting to women everywhere. XP
But we don't know the gender of Delphox so why would they go out of their way to make gruff high-pitched sounds?
Delphox sounds about how you would expect a fox to sound if it said words. The only thing remotely "feminine" about its voice is the fact that it's played by a female voice actor. Women are not typically that high-pitched.Oriden already put example how foxes sound like, and Delphox even sound close to one, just that it's voice is high pitched

Well of course they don't assign to all of them, they just bring in whoever they can get or willing to voice. But you seen to keep glossing over my point that even if there's a certain pitch to fit the animal, there's also a certain tone set that helps determine gender. For example, Aria's Delphox, had they not called her a she. Granted I can't even remember if they flat out called her a she, how else would you determine it's a girl?Delphox sounds about how you would expect a fox to sound if it said words. And most pokemon are referred to as "it"- I'm pretty sure that the animation studio doesn't even assign genders to most of them.
...if they called it a she. Or gender differences. Voices do not determine gender for pokemon any more than they determine gender for a dog. That's just the way its species sounds.Well of course they don't assign to all of them, they just bring in whoever they can get or willing to voice. Then let's point out one more obscure. Samurott. In the anime Samurott also has a feminine voice, but in pokempark it's voice sounds more masculine. Now Samurott is a very masculine pokemon, so how else would you determine it's gender?...if they called it a she. Or gender differences. "Well that makes two."So what y'all gonna say if one of the final evolutions is feminine looking?
In the anime- if they referred to it as a he or she. Then let's point out one more obscure. Samurott. In the anime Samurott also has a feminine voice, but in pokempark it's voice sounds more masculine. Now Samurott is a very masculine pokemon, so how else would you determine it's gender?
Idk girl, I'm still on the side of Meganium, Serperior, Delphox and Primarina all being feminine. But ohkay."Well that makes two."
Would “elegant” make more sense than feminine? It’d fit starters from Sinnoh onwards.
If they're using specific tones for gender, why do they use the same cry for Pikachu, regardless of gender?Well of course they don't assign to all of them, they just bring in whoever they can get or willing to voice. Those are two different Samurott? Samurott is a species of Pokemon, and there's both male and female Samurott. Then let's point out one more obscure. Samurott. Personally, I wouldn't mind. I've been subscribed to Wickling's use of elegant instead for a few months, actually-- a conversation about it with my sister led to her saying that elegant might be more apt, and I feel that's fair. Though I've applying it specifically to Gens 6 and 7, like they decided to do this Bulky-Sneaky-Elegant trio for those two gens, for whatever reason. It could be way off the mark, of course, but to me the last two gens have followed that. Whether that combo finds its way into SwSh, obviously, has yet to be seen, but if it did, I kinda think Gen 9 would break it since that would be a full "3 Fire/Grass/Water Bulky, Stealthy, Elegant, etc".So what y'all gonna say if one of the final evolutions is feminine looking?
What you say sounds reasonable. Good catch. To better elaborate on this, now that I have the time to do. Although there are also totally invisible walls in Let's Go (I didn't play Let's Go yet, but I sure I saw on some on a stream), the top down view perspective and the "symmetrical" routes makes it intuitive to the player where it can go. While in SwSh, we would have this:
![]()
That would be totally counterintuitive. All players would try to do that, and they would get frustrated. Not only does the camera's perspective allow you to see the entire field as it was open to you, but also there is something there that players would like to inspect and could not. With the trailer and the map, we can note that many areas of this game will be like this (you can tell that by the low quality textures used on distant objects).
So, I really don't think we'll have rideable Pokémon like Let's Go (where you can pick any Pokémon and fly away). Following Pokémon maybe, but even so I think it's unlikely too.
I never really understood why some people balk at feminine designs. It's not some sort of new concept; do those people forget about the existence of Nidoking/queen?
I don't think anyone is saying there shouldn't be feminine designs (at least not in this conversation), just that the whole 'cool/masculine/feminine' starter theory has little precedence outside of two instances at best.
Any thoughts on the Pokémon Pass app?
What's that?
