Just including it in a single segment would have been enough. The trailer wasn't that short. The following feature is distracting from showing off the region, especially if it still has the flashy obnoxious return to pokeball animation every time it hits an obstacle. It would have made it more difficult to film a clean trailer.
Why would they make a hypothetical feature full of unique animations not visible in the trailer? You guys are just making up arguments out of thin air; it doesn't make sense. They could've easily shown the new starters following the trainers, it has nothing to do with attention to other parts of the game.It could still be possible that they haven't shown off the Following Feature yet because this time, they might make it optional rather than forced like in Yellow and HGSS. They just chose not to show it on the first trailer because they wanted all the attention to the region and the starters, not splitting with an old feature is a smart move for the first trailer.
It actually has everything to do with attention, many returning fans care a lot more about the following feature than a new region, which is why Game Freak hasn't shown it yet. Why give attention to something old over something new in the first place? Why would they make a hypothetical feature full of unique animations not visible in the trailer? Because it would be a natural part of the game? Because it would probably be the default-setting when running in the overworld? And your argument doesn't make any sense; if it's that popular a feature then why shouldn't they have shown it? It would have resulted in more hype.It actually has everything to do with attention, many returning fans care a lot more about the following feature than a new region, which is why Game Freak hasn't shown it yet. They don't really use CoroCoro as their primary news source anymore.we should get something in the next two weeks
CoroCoro is close
Popularity doesn't matter for the first trailer, what matters is showing the new things right off the bat.Because it would be a natural part of the game? Because it would probably be the default-setting when running in the overworld? And your argument doesn't make any sense; if it's that popular a feature then why shouldn't they have shown it? It would have resulted in more hype.
An expansive and animation-heavy feature in the overworld like following 'mons would have been shown in at least one of the shots to hype that part of the fanbase.
So it would be a bigger deal than the new features for a lot of people, but it isn't worth being showcased early. Okay.It actually has everything to do with attention, many returning fans care a lot more about the following feature than a new region, which is why Game Freak hasn't shown it yet. Why give attention to something old over something new in the first place?
I feel like it probably is, since it looks like different people who work there and the Japanese Pokemon twitter already made a couple posts about it with no new information...You guys think it's too optimistic that thinking GF will celebrate the new era by showing off more of SwSh? Showing the start of the new era of the series?
I'm just saying that it isn't confirmed to not be in the game at this point. Not showing an optional feature right away is not confirmation because it's optional. I won't be crushed or surprised if it isn't in the game, I am just emphasizing that its absence is not confirmed. You're coming up with arguments to keep the fantasy alive.
Keep on dreaming, I guess.
It's hardly thin air when there is sound reasoning behind it. It just doesn't make sense to you.Why would they make a hypothetical feature full of unique animations not visible in the trailer? The trailer showed enough.
It may not necessarily be a default feature for this game and they have also been stressing that SwSh isn't like Let's Go to reassure a large portion of the fanbase too. Not showing any features associated with Let's Go would emphasize the point that this is a traditional game.Because it would be a natural part of the game? Because it would probably be the default-setting when running in the overworld? And your argument doesn't make any sense; if it's that popular a feature then why shouldn't they have shown it? It would have resulted in more hype.

You do know in tight spaces, if the pokemon is too big it's just sent back into it's ball until there's room right? My main concern about following pokemon is that parts of the map doesn't really fit following pokemon.
The cave for example is too small for a lot of pokemon and we see the camera following the mc from behind. If the girl had a following pokemon (even a normal size one, like delphox), we could barely see her.

As Myth noticed, the fences before the Giant hill would provide invisible walls for flying with pokemon. And it's obviously hard to accept that you cannot go somewhere you clearly see for no reason but an invisible wall.
So right now, I think I'm gonna simply accept that following and riding pokemon Let's Go-style were left out of these games. Riding pokemon like s/m will be probably in.
I know. That cave is not too small for Delphox but we could not see the mc if the camera is behind the mc and Delphox. You do know in tight spaces, if the pokemon is too big it's just sent back into it's ball until there's room right?
How big do you think Delphox is? It's smaller than a full grown adult? But I know that's not the point. Still it's more than big enough to for mid sized pokemon to fit. Plus it's a hall, you don't need much peripheralsI know but that cave is not too small for Delphox but we could not see the mc if the camera is behind the mc and Delphox.
