I think we'll get some news this month, but not in the next week or so. Perhaps late May after Memorial Day in the weeks leading up to E3.

Three months with no news is just too long for a new generation. This forum is in desperate need of new information and since May is traditionally a big news month, we just gotta hope they'll stick to tradition.

Are we really in desperate need of new information? I remember prior to the release of SM, I thought there was a huge news drought, and then it seemed like trailers dropped every week and I sort of got sick of all the news drops. This time around, I'm not letting myself be desperate. I'll admit I'd like to see a few trailers that show off the region, but I think I am going to not absorb every piece of news. I think I will let myself be surprised.

For me, ignorance is going to be bliss. I don't want to be disappointed if SwSh turns out to be another mediocre entry in the franchise.

Some people think we will not get any SwSh news this month...

While I think there'll be news this month, it's not like I would be shocked if that's not the case. GF has a really weird way to promote their games during the 2-3 months after the reveal (which can be simply tranlated to "nothing").

It’s been a while since someone asked this but are there any leaks that have yet to be either fully or mostly debunked? I feel like everything I’ve seen has been at least marked as extremely unlikely.

Not that I’m complaining. I’m honestly glad that we likely haven’t seen any real game info leaked yet. It’s too early for things to be spoiled.

We can't really debunk much until we have official info shown. A lot of rumors were debunked upon initial information, but until we have something new, we cant.

I'm certainly excited for this month. Though if we do end up waiting until the very end of the month for news, like last year, then I'll be disappointed.

People say the info on SM flooded in in 2016 after the reveal, but that isn't quite true. I definitely remember seeing a lot of stuff before game release, but it was more so in the last 3 months before release, rather than in June, July and August. IIRC, we got one trailer a month with a surprise drop here and there until August when they revealed Salandit. Then it flooded, hut mostly because of early copies being released and such.

A but off topic, but do y'all remember when the TCG Mareanie card was posted on accident and every was like "Ooh what's that". THAT was a fun leak.

I do wonder if we will get a legit leak early, like we did last year with LGPE with Emily Rogers then confirming the info. At this point, a lot is possible.

I don't think we have anything in the remotely likely list at this point, considering most of the "leaks" so far have pretty much been over-detailed and full of holes to be poked in them. TPCi seems to be doing a good job of securing their info this time around- I find myself rather impressed by it. For now. XD

To be fair, if/when we do get new info this month, I still hope it's not too much. By now I grew out of the "gotta know everything beforehand!!" and while having things "spoiled" still doesn't make me enjoy something less, it's nice to play a game as blind as possible.
E.g. I ignored gen 7 until early this year because I didn't really like the starters (and although they all somewhat grew on me by now, I still dislike all their evolutions) and also wasn't fond of the hawaii setting and I like my league challenge gyms & badges Pokemon games. So, when I did play them, it was pretty much as blind as can be, since I knew close to no gen 7 Pokemon, nor their types, nor the special abilities, nor the moves.
It was a kind of fresh experience and definitely added to the enjoyment.

Less is more, being my point here. Seeing something like the prof in a trailer before, maybe the rival (which I personally would like to be a female rival for once, just since that never was a thing besides the games where the character you don't pick is your rival) and a few basic Pokemon along with the box legendaries is nice. Maybe some random scenery, too.
If there is a new kind of battle mechanic, that can be showed off, too - although not too much? Like, if armor evolution is a thing, knowing it is would be cool but leave it to exploration what it really does.

The spoilery trailers can start after the game's release :p

Fully agreed with you. The big wave of news only came in the last 2-3 months with things slowly starting to pick up pace around june. Also agreed with Mareanie's sneak-reveal.

Anyway, May is always still quite calm. News, but not that much if the starters and some form of trailer has been shown in an earlier month.

May is looking really good for some news. I think the earliest we could see some news would be May 7th. As @Myth mentioned, Golden Week ends on May 6th this year, so I think anytime after that would be good. My prediction day for the trailer though is May 8th, mainly because the deleted tweet from Nintendo that talked about "Gym Masters" was put out on March 8th, before being deleted very shortly afterward.

We still don't know if this tweet likely meant anything, at this point It could have just been a mistake, for all we know. But with the phrasing of "the Gyms in Galar are now bigger than ever!" and the mention of "Gym Masters", it doesn't seem like the mistake was using Masters instead of Leaders. March and May are both short named months and share the same first two letters. It would be a pretty simple mistake to mistakenly put down March instead of May. We just don't know anything concrete yet.

Whenever we get news, I hope we get some soon. I think at this point even just seeing a couple of new places in Galar would tide me over for a bit, if they wanted to wait and reveal more exciting things at e3. I think my hopes for the new trailer would just be seeing a few more places in the region, maybe a couple of new Pokemon (even if they are just the early route mons), a couple of the characters, and the deal with these gyms.

I can't help but think they did it on purpose. The change of title to Masters seems so small and insignificant, I can't help but think they're just trying to hype up the gym changes which in all honestly will probably not be that insane (if Alola is anything to go by anyway).

But maybe I'm just being a pessimist.

I'm not sure if they would prepare a tweet months in advance...But yeah, hopefully we will be getting news very soon.

Regarding the next trailer, I'm looking forward to seeing the legendaries and to hearing new music the most. I also want to see the art of the characters now that James Turner is in charge of it.

Edit: (...seeing* ...hearing* ...)

Well, it could mean a change in difficulty. If they make them as hard as the totems (without nuking) I will be happy.

Same here, I'm looking forward to hearing the music. I loved how the music they showed in the trailer was basically the same music we've had, but with a new, synthetic and futuristic sound to it.

Yeah, what seems to be the title screen music, looks like a common title screen theme song mixed up with a hall of fame theme, and I loved it too. I'm also in love with this one:

Looking forward to more.

Edit - Just found this recreation attempt and it's pretty cool too (seems quite different from the original though):

For the title music, I love that it's a mix of the Hall of Fame song, and the usual title toon. The guitars also set this high energy feel making you feel like you're ready for an epic time, different from the usual "prepare for a grand adventure" feel.
