Even if the gym experience was worth it in some way, that'd be totally independence of the number of gyms. What kind of gameplay experience couldn't be done with another three gyms?

Maybe they add more content to the rest of the game? Like Northern Ireland being the Battle Frontier?

It can't be that hard to add three more gyms... plus given their "people don't have time" mentality that went away with the battle facility in ORAS, I think it's safe to say that gyms would definitely be given a higher priority over anything of that sort.

But then where are the remaining three gyms?

For starters, didn't we already get to see that 'gym' logo on the building in that city with lots of steam in the trailer? That's already gym 6. Besides, as the poster above me already mentioned not all of the gyms have to be stadiums. In x/y, four gyms (bug, fighting, psychic, ice) have standardised buildings that only differ in the colour of their roofs while the remaining ones (rock, grass, electric, fairy) are either set in a cave or a landmark building of that respective city. The point I'm trying to make is that not all of the gyms have to have identical appearance like in the first four generations.

I mean it's better then sun and moon reveal.
we waited until may 10 to actually see anything in game.
This week should be interesting, since CoroCoro will likely leak on friday/saturday. with a very strong possibility for trailer on thursday

I think we really need a thread talking about the trailer, so I made this thread so we can discuss the trailer and our remarks and theories, here is some:

• there were blue and red marks everywhere, it looked like the blue part is attaking the red part, it may not be that important , but when a man is talking, we can see that mark popping out, so this could be some clue for"attack and defence strategies" or anything, in addition ,that sport shirt seen while the male character is entering the field had that mark , by the way, he had a glove mostly to play pokebaseball from the anime so they want to appear in tokyo olympics or it could be some other gimmick as it's in the same zone as z-rings and mega stones (just a weird idea)

•the starters themselves had secrets on the face: soble had a stage curtain , scorbunny is clearly sportive, grookey had cymbals as a mask, so they are about entertrainment like gen 7 starters

• they already showed 5 gyms and their types: grass , water , poison , rock , ice(I'm not sure if it's a gym) and 3 giant cities

Just to clarify, everything shown on the map will not be it, the industrial city, for example, will have its own gym/stadium.

Things I think that might be revealed this month:

-Box legends.
-The typical mammal, bird and insect.
-The professor and the rival.
-Some random gym leader(s).
-The official art of the MCs.
Agreeing with box legends and character art- not sure about the regional weaklings, though, that seems like something that might be better held off for the E3 demo.

I also think this is probably the most likely scenario.

This is shaping up to look a lot like the Sun/Moon reveal outline, except the starters and region came early, so who knows? Maybe we'll be surprised. It does seem a bit odd to only get the legendaries revealed when May is usually the first notable burst of info. Although I guess because they revealed more than usual in the first trailer, it could make sense. I'm kinda hoping it's not too much through E3, because I'm debating going into the game mostly blind this time, as hard as that is. That would mean no more keeping up with news after E3...I haven't done it since Gen 4 when I was blissfully unaware, but I think that's part of what made it especially fun.

Well, the E3 demo has limited time and they do a lot of talking, so probably the most we'll see is some of the first route or so.

I can't wait to find out what kind of bird Pokémon will Gen VIII have. It's pretty likely that a stork is one of them (since we see a stork nest in the trailer), which would be great.

I am also hoping for a hawk or a falcon.

I'm not sure about this but did we get a third (or fourth if we count the preview) trailer in May for the past movies?
If we did, there probably wasn't one in April that year. I rather doubt that the latest trailer is all that new considering that no one is talking about it and the April one is less than a month old.

"In this post I will post some information about the upcoming pokemon sword and shield games. A trailer was planned to be released in march but will instead be released in the fourteenth of june.

Starters are based off of childhood dreams and aspirations."
Grookey is the feminine starter of the bunch, evolves into an edgy Grass/Dark popstar;
Scorbunny is very athletic and evolves into an acrobat superhero, the design gives Dick Grayson vibes. Fire / Flying;
Sobble is shy and scared by eventually evolves into a brave Viking-looking pokemon. Water / Ice.

"The story is focused around two antagonist groups that want to spread their beliefs across Galar. They both worship the cover legendary, but depict it in different ways."
The Ice / Steel wolf cover legendary has two version exclusive forms. A sword form for Shield version and a shield form for Sword version. The evil team of the version will be shocked to know that their radical beliefs were wrong (the legendary has a comoletely different appearence than what they thought).

"Coolest-looking dex ever imo."
Early bird is a hummingbird musketeer;
Early mammal is a praire dog that becomes a hound;
Unicorn (Fairy / Dragon) and Gargoyle (Rock / Ghost) version-exclusive pseudo-legendaries;
Fire / Ghost legendary snake that protects the forests;
Electric / Fighting legendary cyclops;
Hydrant that evolves into a firefighter;
Dullahan pokemon;
Menancing hecatoncheires pokemon.
