"In this post I will post some information about the upcoming pokemon sword and shield games. A trailer was planned to be released in march but will instead be released in the fourteenth of june.

Starters are based off of childhood dreams and aspirations."

"The story is focused around two antagonist groups that want to spread their beliefs across Galar. They both worship the cover legendary, but depict it in different ways."

"Coolest-looking dex ever imo."
This seems super fake. I doubt they would have even had a trailer planned to release in March in the first place and those starters don't really seem that convincing.

"lol changed my mind let's just wait three months for fun"

"Coolest-looking dex ever imo."
Catchphrase time? I know it's been almost three months, but that's still pretty early. It's the eighth leak to promise this, I think?

Also, I love how this person pretends that they're somehow able to acquire promotional plans (the trailer's planned release), at least 20 Pokemon besides the starters, the plot of the game, and the design inspiration behind the starters...but not any images or anything to prove their case.

Not only would waiting till June be very poor for advertising (gosh please don't make us wait till June) but having that big of a jump for trailer release dates is also an extreme red flag. Like delaying a trailer release date for a few weeks is one thing, but delaying it for practically 3 whole months is another. Like what? what is even the reasoning behind this?

The ideas in the leak are interesting though. I'm down for a Unicorn Pokemon, I quite like the starter ideas, and I enjoy the antagonist teams. but all of this seems kind of like a wishlist, and even trying to pander to other fans to try to gain credibility.

It's interesting, but I am sure it's fake. The ideas are cool, but little too much pandering to what fans want, and a lot of issues with saying that there was a 3-month delay on a trailer.

This rumor is automatically false due to it saying that more information will at E3. This is false for two reasons, one is because it would be bad marketing to let two whole months with no information whatsoever and two, Pokemon would rather have its own spotlight rather than share it with other games.

Actually it'd be almost 4 months...well, 3.5, but still. The games were revealed on Feb 27th, and E3 happens during the middle of June. I expect at least box art or legendaries with a release date to be revealed before E3. It'd be unprecedented, and ever since XY, the marketing campaign has been formulaic in timeline. In fact, all the games directed by Ohmori (since ORAS) have been released exactly 1 week before Black Friday, which is why my money is on the same date, November 22nd, this year (which, unfortunately because that's the latest that date can fall, is one day after my birthday this time). :(

I'm thinking that there will still be 8 gyms.
There's almost definitely 8 gyms. The location of 7 are pretty clearly known based on the trailer and the map. There's probably just another unorthodox one that you can't notice from the map, like the one in the first major city, where it's located within the tall tower.

If we did, there probably wasn't one in April that year. I rather doubt that the latest trailer is all that new considering that no one is talking about it and the April one is less than a month old.
Serebii says that it features special new footage and music for the film, but yeah- given the lack of buzz around it, I doubt it's anything all that exciting. Just new music and some extra footage of remade scenes. Seems certain at this point that the only things really different about this film are whatever is battling Bulbasaur and the Mewtwo armor redesign.

I think we really need a thread talking about the trailer, so I made this thread so we can discuss the trailer and our remarks and theories, here is some:

• there were blue and red marks everywhere, it looked like the blue part is attaking the red part, it may not be that important , but when a man is talking, we can see that mark popping out, so this could be some clue for"attack and defence strategies" or anything, in addition ,that sport shirt seen while the male character is entering the field had that mark

•the starters themselves had secrets on the face: soble had a stage curtain , scorbunny is clearly sportive, grookey had cymbals as a mask, so they are about entertrainment like gen 7 starters

• they already showed 5 gyms and their types

3 of them are in the big cities, two of them are hidden within the central buildings in the first two cities, whilst the last is in London's Wembley.

imo, i think it's still really early for people to claim this news cycle is "better than SM's". extra emphasis on the really early part.

in fact, it can be argued the other way around. we immediately got starter reveals with SwSh whereas the first major SM trailer was May 10th with starters.

we'll see how much will be revealed and whether it'll be similar in nature to SM's news cycle

Well, in my opinion, it is worse than SM's news cycle, but that's because we didn't have to wait almost a year to get the names of the games after an announcement that can be summarized with "this game exists".

The lack of news could be worrying because it may be like LGPE (not much new to reveal)
however on the flip side of the coin it could be really good they keep stuff back as SM USUM and ORAS all had everything revealed before the game came out there was no surprises left

Although, I highly doubt that a new gen would not have a lot of new content.

Again, and I hate to reiterate this. We've known about Sw/Sh existance since June 2017. It was mentioned "that mainline pokemon switch game was on the way" after the reveal of USUM after the possible backlash that USUM was just a carbon copy of SuMo. They then stated it again one year later when LGP/E was announced and again Game Freak was worried that series veterans would bauk at the fact that the 1st Pokemon game on the Switch was a watered down version of Generation One. If you count that time into the advertisement cycle - IT WOULD BE OVER 1 and a Half YEARS / 20 Months from the 1st Announcement to just having the Titles and Starters revealed (bar the mention at E32018 after LGP/E). 3 months wait doesn't seen that bad in comparison.

We're still only three months in- the brunt of the new content always comes later. The first few months are always minor stuff and a month or two of silence. Nothing worrying about it.

Definitely no reason to be worried about a lack of new content- they're new games in a new region, not newbie-friendly remakes with a restricted roster.

There is no way a brand new game like SwSh could have as little content as a game like LGPE, which is basically a casual-oriented remake of Gen I.

Especially since we are talking about the first new generation to debut on the Switch. It will definitely be full of new content.

These are console games, which will cost much more than 3ds games. They should be bigger than 3ds games --> there should be much more stuff to reveal.
I'm using logic right now and I know it's something I shouldn't do with game freak but I seriously hope they didn't just bring a 3ds game to the switch apart from the graphical side. If I have to pay 60 dollars for these games, I'm expecting they were smart enough to make console games and not just more expensive 3ds games. The fact that a remake of Yellow which required litterally a year of development and barely added anything new to the original game earned almost the same money of Zelda, is something my mind cannot really accept. The fact that a game which is 20 years old now costs 60 dollars because of 3d graphics and pokemon in the overworld while everything else is in the exact same position is just unfair.
