The press conference will be about Pokémon only, it's a Pokémon Business Conference, not a Game Freak Conference. And we probably will not have any major information about SwSh tomorrow (they probably announced the Direct so in advance so people would not expect SwSh information at tomorrow's conference).

About the Direct, it will be about SwSh or SwSh related things only.

If you want my guesses for June, if they fill all that time with new stuff, which would be insane, we do still need the legends and official Sugimori art for the protags. If we get humans, I expect the professor foremost, and then, maybe your rival or other central characters to the game. They might show a gym leader or whatever it is this has in it's place. The rest would have to be random new pokemon, which despite that this is so big, I doubt they will flood us with that many new pokemon at once. The central gimmick is what I'm after, though. With something that big, I don't see why they wouldn't.

I feel they'll talk about some new pokemon, some characters, and the new gym mechanics. Which is probably where most of the time will go to.

Just heard the news! Let this hype train going full SPEED my guys, gals, and non-binary pals~!!!

Though we should keep expectation tempered. I know 15 minutes is more than enough for a sizable info dump, but they could easily spend a good portion of that running through already known info. It'll still be a meaty reveal, but don't go too crazy with your expectations!
Now, I do think we'll at least see the Box Legendaries, and maybe one or two new Pokemon. Some more scenic shots are a must.

Things I'd love to see are the rival(s), professor(s), and maybe an explanation on what's going on with gyms in Galar.
A pipedream hope would be a return of Regional Varients... and new Mega Evolutions (but I doubt they'd ever do something like that).

Whew, Pokémon Direct announced, nice. Most important for me is sorta knowing the release date - helps me planning my game expenses. xD

Otherwise artwork and names of the protags would be nice, and the rival(s) although the latter would end up disappointing anyway. :|
I'd like a rival who's not a pushover, and preferably a female badass rival because that'd be new. I'm not against multiple rivals, if they're well written into the game, I think. I mean, imagine a rival with the same starter you have, that would be some real competition lol

I kinda expect seeing a couple new Pokemon where I don't really have specific expectations/hopes - I'll take what'll come. Scenery for sure, too (walking through routes, etc.)

Some more interesting bit would be at least a glance that opens speculation on how HMs are handled this time around or, if there's a new gimmick, tease about it at least. (Though personally I'd prefer Megas revived...)
The professor could be interesting, I guess? Depends on the prof.

Oh well in general I keep my expectations low so that I can be amazed at whatever is shown either way :p

Could be a new marketing strategy where they favor fewer large info dumps over many frequent ones.

...though personally I'm betting that a good chunk of it is gonna be eaten up by cinematic scenes like how they introduced the starters. Over a minute of the Sword and Shield announcement was just showing the starters off. The trailer was only two minutes and twelve seconds long.

It's really exciting that this is all happening next week. A week from Wednesday. And the direct happens early in the morning where I'm at (6:00am PST) SO I get to wake up to new Pokemon and info. Idk if I'll be able to sleep Tuesday night haha

15 mins? All the info I said I wanted before may actually happen then... This will also decide what direction Game Freak may have taken these games, as I imagine they'll want to discuss what changes for the franchise finally "switching" to consoles mean. Please be worth it, I don't need the entire game spoiled, I just want to be hopeful again.

Maybe it's because I'm an N64-era kid, but I don't really see why being on a handheld/home console hybrid now means any really big changes for the series. Sure, there are some massive open world games now, but there are also a lot that just... aren't. And given how Gen 7 was, it wouldn't surprise me if the "switch" to console just results in graphic improvements and bigger and better cutscenes.

A 15 minute direct? Totally awesome! That means a much higher chance of Animal Crossing news at Nintendo's E3 Direct, among other titles. ^-^

Aside from that, I sense a new game mechanic of some kind being introduced at the least, as 15 minutes is quite long, compared to other info dumps they usually show.

I still think Pokemon will not be at E3 and that we will get some gameplayfootage in this Direct instead.

People in general seem to tend to forget that "open world" isn't a must, norm or sign of quality but merely a design choice.

Personally I'm still just not sure if an open world concept would work for a mainline Pokémon game.

(As people tend to quote BOTW, I have actually started playing it now and it's a good game, really. But it doesn't feel "TLoZ" at all anymore. A lot of things that were just part of the series ever since are gone and/or replaced in BOTW. Despite BOTW's popularity, I wouldn't want Pokémon to go such a route of dropping a lot of its identity to appeal to the masses. Changes aren't bad, but I'd prefer franchises I follow for what they are to stay true to themselves in the basic nature. Might just be me, though.)

I think it could work, but it would take a lot of planning and imagination to figure out how. XD

If it ever happens or even comes close, I think I'd trust GameFreak to have come up with a good solution for it. A faith that comes from them introducing Mega Evolution and not making me hate it one bit. XD Because let's admit it, the idea of a temporary fourth evolution in pokemon prior to Gen 6 sounds like cheesy fan dreams at its finest.

I'm also of that era, but in my case I really just want a high quality experience. The Pokemon Colosseum games weren't "open world" but I enjoyed them for the immersion and possibilities that a Pokemon RPG on console could create.

Open world in the sense of Mario Odyssey may be a good in-between point for the series
