So we're getting a direct and a live conference? I'm guessing that the conference is non-SwSh related? (just kinda got home from work so bit out of the loop!)
Yes, exactly: the Direct has been indicated to include details about Sword & Shield,
and, the conference is said to be for/about "some exciting updates"!
I really hope they announce PMD5 for the Switch tomorrow. I really liked Red/Blue Team and I LOVED Explorers, but I never touched Gates (which I hear is bad) or Super (which I hear is decent). My biggest fear, though, is that there's a non-zero chance that it could be a mobile game considering what happened to Rumble, and if that happens, then I can't even begin to imagine the backlash in the West
I hope we finally hear about pokebank compatibility with swsh. I just have this bad feeling in my gut that these games will be the first since ruby and sapphire to not be able to transfer from older games.
Maybe it's because I'm an N64-era kid, but I don't really see why being on a handheld/home console hybrid now means any really big changes for the series. Sure, there are some massive open world games now, but there are also a lot that just... aren't. And given how Gen 7 was, it wouldn't surprise me if the "switch" to console just results in graphic improvements and bigger and better cutscenes.
Open world in the sense of Mario Odyssey may be a good in-between point for the series
Well, there might be an additional complication they threw in the works. They have proven the Switch can communicate with mobile phones and GO. I think they intend to put in a way for Bank to communicate with GO by this same method.
They introduce new moves all the time. Tons of Flying types got Roost in gen 4, for example. Sometimes old moves become TMs or Move Tutors as well making them accessible to a ton of new Pokémon. Most recently, there was Leech Life for recovery.Im sorry if this is a bit off topic, but was there ever a time where they gave a pokemon a recovery in another gen by level up or by event?
Im really crossing my fingers for any silvally buffs in gen 8, its my favourite pokemon
Man I'm hella excited to see the new Pokemon next week. I really wonder if there will be a new dog Pokemon, and if so, if it'll be a pug or a welsh corgi. I really hope for a pug, since I have 2 IRL.
Maybe we won't get a dog, since we've had 3 in a row (Lillipup line, Furfrou, Rockruff line).
Hopefully we don't get a new cat for a while.

We get both every generation so I'm totally expecting them this generation too. The only time we didn't get a cat (other than Espeon) was Johto, and it still turned out that they had designed one but scrapped it.Why not both a cat and dog? That way everyone wins.
About the conference, I think we could create a thread for it. What do you think?
That will be nothing compared to the gap between the SWSH release and whatever game comes next...But let's just not think about that. When Gen 9 will be revealed, remember we almost spent 100 days without news during gen 8.
