About the Press Conference announcement today, I hope TPCi materialize my idea about a PokéJobs spin-off series.

Or more realistically, just bring back Pokémon Ranger, but with some main series enhancements, like battling.

Does anyone know where the TPCi meeting was held, or was it closed off for public viewing? I was kinda of hoping they made some other announcement other than a direct next week.

I would like to make a bingo, but I don't know if it would be worth it, since we may not have anything relevant or even predictable (I mean, there is the possiblity of).

But looking around the community, this is what people are suggesting the most (including unlikely things):

  • New Pokémon Snap for Switch;
  • New Pokémon Mystery Dungeon for Switch and/or for Mobile;
  • Pokémon Stadium Series port for Switch (with compatibility with 3DS RGBY and GSC Virtual Console games);
  • New Pokémon Stadium game for Switch;
  • New Pokémon "Battle Revolution" for Switch;
  • Pokémon GO updates details (about mechanics, or about future updates like Unova);
  • Pokémon Let's Go update;
  • Pokémon Quest update;
  • DeNa and TPC spin-off details;
  • New live action announcement or details;
  • Detective Pikachu port for Switch;
  • New Detective Pikachu game for Switch;
  • Pokémon Bank for Switch;
  • New Pokémon transfer app (like Bank);
  • PokéBall Plus compatibility with SwSh;
  • New PokéBall Plus-like acessory for SwSh;
  • New PokéPark for Switch;
  • New Pokémon Conquest for Switch;
  • New Pokémon Ranger for Switch;
  • New Pokémon Trozei for Mobile;
  • Pokémon TCG App port for Switch;
  • New Pokémon TCG game for Switch;
  • New Pokkén Tournament for Switch;
  • New Pokémon "Colosseum" for Switch;
  • New insert-any-other-Pokémon-spin-off-here for Switch;
  • New Spin-offs;
  • New Pokémon Let's Go game;
  • Details about future projects in general;
  • New animated series.

I put the three most unlikely ones at last. What I'm expecting, personally: New PMD for Switch, new live action official development announcement and DeNa spin-off details.

Edit

Does anyone know where the TPCi meeting was held, or was it closed off for public viewing? I was kinda of hoping they made some other announcement other than a direct next week.

If you're talking about the conference, it will be streamed worldwide on their official channel on Twitch. Here.

I thought about it, and the only particular piece of information I'd like an answer to is the fate of the Pokemon Bank. And the 15 minute direct may very well include a ton of talking and explanation from the designers about the inspiration behind Galar and blah blah blah. I hope they don't go too in depth, I'd still like to be surprised when the game comes later this year. I was dumb with SM and when parts of the game leaked, I looked at all of the footage and ruined the best parts of the game for myself. Not doing it this time.

If you don’t want any of the game spoiled for you then this doesn’t seem like the ideal thread to be on lol

So today's conference could really be nothing for all we know. Though it would be odd for then to ask is to tune in for nothing.

I'm pretty sure they will highlight the successes of the Detective Pikachu movie, detail any related merchandise that is associated with the move, talk about the Mewtwo Strikes Back remake movie, probably talk about the success of the terrible Let's Go games, probably mention Pokemon GO! and maybe (more than likely not) mention something about SwSh. There's plenty going on in Pokemon to talk about, none of which that particularly appeals to me I might add.

Well we don't know anything about the games other than the name of the region and the starters so..... what exactly is being ruined for me here? What I mean that I don't want to the game being spoiled = I don't need to know the finite details of the game two weeks before it is even released.

Nothing for now, but as more info drops you are apt to see all or most of it posted here. Not to mention leaks and other info we get unofficially.

I expect the DeNA game and confirmation of another live action movie. I don't see why they'd release another Switch game this year (let alone a PMD one which would be better for a gap year) or announce it for next year, unless it's something new like Detective Pikachu and Pokken back in 2013.

Pretty much what I expect, with the exception of the new Mystery Dungeon part.

If we don't get a new PMD, I hope that at least this DeNa game to be worth it. Otherwise, I would not see the reason to make that much of a big deal that they're doing about this year conference. Well, we will see.

The past two conferences were about new ventures. PMD wouldn't count unless they mobilized it.

I really don't expect nothing new from the press conference. Remember, the other two times this has happened, Pokemon GO and Let's Go were revealed. Combined with the little hint given in the February Direct about other things coming this year, I expect a new game or app to be revealed.

That said, this gives them 15 minutes to spend on S/S as advertised - "the latest news on Pokemon Sword and Shield."

What do you mean by new ventures? I mean, a live action sequence (if it be a sequence) could not be considered as a new venture anymore. And Pokémon Quest was just a common spin-off. Not sure if it was a new venture.

A new game or app would be something new, though?

For tonight, I'm thinking we'll get whatever was teased at the end of the last direct. (It's a big year for Pokemon, etc.) Could definitely see them announcing some more things for the Go/Let's Go family of games; and announcing a new series of live action films wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility.

Detective Pikachu did really well, all things considered. It'd be weird for them not to capitalize on it.

Prediction for the press conference: They're going to announce a Nintendo Switch Online exclusive game. May it be something like Puzzle League or something completely new. Other than that I doubt them to announce anything else than a little spin-off title. If we are very very lucky then maybe one of the bigger spin-offs like Mystery Dungeon or Ranger but definitely no DP remake like some fans on other websites speculated.

Other than that promotion for the new CGI movie, maybe some news on the Pokemon anime and probably a single new Pokemon or the cover legendaries.

I think that PMD is much more realistic than Ranger. The whole gimmick of the Ranger games was based around the capture mechanic on the touch screen, and not to say that they couldn't adapt the formula to Switch, but the 3DS' life has come and gone without a Ranger game and I think that if they wanted to continue the series they would have done it by now. I'm actually quite alright with that, because I am of the mind that Ranger 3 was the best in the series and one of the best spinoffs overall, so I'd rather they end it on a high note than muck it up.

I think that if Nintendo were to make a puzzle game exclusive to Nintendo Switch Online members, they wouldn't use Pokemon as the IP as it's not predominately known for its puzzle games. Rather, if they were to do this, I think they would have already done it with Tetris 99. Imagine how much of a different outlook that would have given the Nintendo Switch Online service if that game and all the hype that came with it was exclusive to the service.
