We'll find out soon if the leak is real since it says that a Direct announcement will be supposedly on New Year's Day or sometime after depending on timing. So I think in the next week or so.

People do very commonly wear party hats at new years and christmas that are crown shaped and or literal crowns, over here anyway. Believe its fairly big in England still.

Yeah this actually just boosts the UK region thing lol But yeah its a very common UK tradition which makes sense given what nationality James Turner is.

Just looked at the official Pokémon twitter

During the holiday period in December, they used a number of imagery with scepters and Pikachu holding them in various photos. There’s a very definition theme here, but the photos were posted a week or so before the leak came to be.

Exactly. The alleged leak could have easily been based on the photos.

Sceptre would have a very different feel than past titles and even Crown. It isn't a common word and is probably hard to pronounce for Japanese (it would be a first if they used the Japanese equivalent).

Also, Mince Pies on plate with Donuts. Mince Pies are well known in the UK.

But also important...

CAUTION: Don't count your chickens before they hatch! Having a Dolphin Pokemon for a starter seems odd for an amphibious theme, unless it's something new.
