Official Pre-Pokémon Sword & Pokémon Shield Speculation & Leaks thread

I'm sure this means nothing, so read through to the end before you draw to any early conclusion.

So, I typed all of those names we theorized a few pages ago (almost all of those, actually), on that Google site that checks domains situation (just out of curiosity).

So, for example, if the list had "Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield", I looked for pokemonswordshield.com and for pokemonshieldsword.com. None of the names returned any registered domain. What was expected, since they usually only register the domain when it is close to the game annoucement.

However, a particular domain was already registered, which is: pokemonpastfuture.com

Through the Whois site, I was able to see who is the owner of the domain, I researched it, and really, it has absolutely nothing to do with Nintendo, nor with any other company that has already registered domains for it.

The address of the owner points to this random company in Hong Kong: Baker Tilly International

I believe there is no chance of this being in any way related to Nintendo, otherwise, at least the company that owns it would be Japanese or American. But the result was curiositly strange. Why a company in Hong Kong registered that domain?

Maybe some chinese pokemon fan guy registered it with the address of that company? Maybe "pokemonpastfuture" means something in Chinese? What do you think?
Did you actually search for the site? It could be a porn site because usually those have weird names.

I highly doubt a domain is registered at this point, just because it leads to their website, doesn't necessarily mean it's registered. This was the case of everybody thinking Rainbow was going to be the next name when due to being Niji (or whatever name that ends in "I" that identifies with rainbow) when in reality, anything that ended with "I" lead to the website. However, they were not entirely wrong about it though, as Rainbow Rocket became a canon organization within the games. So, while the games could relate to past and future, I don't think that's going to be their names.

Yeah, it has nothing.

It was registered on April 9, and renewed on September 8. Some people and companies buy these addresses and leave them empty just to resell them later, but that would be very stupid because it has a brand in the name (Pokémon), so it has to do with brand rights, also, the last time someone did it (someone registered pokemonletsgo.com when the name of the game leaked months ago), TPC didn't even mind to take the site back, just used the domain (pokemon.com) and created pokemonletsgo.pokemon.com.

I just wonder if someone has an explanation for that.

I said that, man (that's it is too early)...I'm sorry, but you should read the whole post. The address doesn't even lead to their website...

Oh wow, I swear if we accidentally guessed the names of the next games by just brainstorming XD.

Well, if the names of the next games aren't any of all those we theorized...I will not even know what to say. Really, I think we will kind of guessed it anyway.

But I find very unlikely that this registered domain mean anything.

It appears available for sale, but for a much higher price than normal ($ 280). But when I click to buy the system gives error and tells me that the domain is not for sale, actually. May be its a bug.

Judging by the high price, and by the name "Past and Future" that have been considered in the community a few times ago as one of the names of the upcoming games, I would say it was some fan who bought it to try to resell later (but he was stupid, because judging by the Let's Go domain case, even if the games turn out to be really Past and Future, I doubt that the TPC would even mind to take it back by legal means, since it still would cost time for them to do).

As I said, I just wonder if someone has a better explanation for that.

Do you think the Pokémon should have new animations for each status condition? Like when they are Asleep, they lay down on the ground. When they are burned, they hop on fire. When Paralyzed, they get stiff with electricity. When Poisoned, they act really sick. When Frozen, they get encased in an ice sculpture with icicles. And when confused, they should be looking around all distracted? That would be better than seeing Pokémon sleeping while standing up or flying.

Yes.

And we need better animations period. The fact that Blastoise still shoots water from his mouth instead of his cannons is embarrassing.

Pokémon Stadium had a very good eye for detail when it came to that kind of situational contexts. Sadly, now that the world of Pokémon is larger than ever, we'll have to live with those models that have been used since XY for an eternity, without situational contexts.

Which is sad, really. Now each Pokémon has more or less two animations: one for physical moves, one for special moves, and if they are lucky, one for a signature move.

They could just change places on where the extra model for the attack will be generated.

And for close range physical moves like Bite, I think they should animate the Pokémon running up to the opponent to do it instead of making some kind of telekinetic attack. But all those animations for all those Pokémon might take up too much GB on the game card.

Not only that, it slows the fight down. Just look at Pokémon Battle Revolution videos and you would feel that certain fights take forever. And it would be unfair to the people that like things quick, but don't like to disable animations.

I mean, Blastoise for example, any attack with an animation that shoots a jet of water at the target would be having two jets of water coming out of its cannons at the same time rather than its mouth.

Not to mention that that game displays the turn-basedness blatantly.

I feel like this is more of an issue with Battle Revolution than animation with physical contact. That game was just a mess all around including in the graphics.

I’m sure GF can make fast animations with Pokemon making contact with each other.

I've always wanted an animation that displays Pokémon being in a pinch like struggling to breathe when the HP bar turns red. Sadly, that won't ever happen.

Well, there was the fact that the Pokémon walked to the opponent, did its move, and then walked back, slowing things down. The only solution I could think would be the "almost teleporting" thing that the characters from the PS1 Final Fantasies.

EDIT:

Part of me wants this, but part of me also thinks that I would feel guiltier for using Pokémon with high Affection. Having them survive with 1 HP and then having the game say that they endured the move for you was sad.

So, I kind of realized something while sitting around thinking.

What we, the Pokemon Fandom, are looking for in Gen 4 remakes isn't a straight up remake. We're looking for an ORAS style remake. ORAS took the familiar story of RSE and added some twists to it. That's what we want in DP remakes. At least, that's what I want. (Also cute outfits. Sue me.)
