There’s been no official word on what the beta Pokémon from that manga were supposed to be, unless I missed something; was it explicitly stated in said manga?
do you now see the Difference and similarities from these two

Honestly, I just prefer it that way, I always hated in-battle only form changes. I feel like it takes away the feel of a Pokemon in particular. "Dur dur, here's the original form of Groudon but you can only access it through battle so it can't stay like that forever dur dur".

I think I have mixed feelings about it. In-battle changes can make sense - Castform is a good example, Cherrim is inoffensive, and Darmanitan’s is interesting even if not well-executed. I think those kinds of in-battle changes all serve to give those Pokémon some extra character. Meloetta, too, even though I think they could have done a lot more with it (and I love both designs). But as far as things like Mega Evolutions and Primal Reversions go, where it’s pretty much entirely in service of the mechanic instead of the Pokémon’s character (in terms of how they’re implemented - “for any member of this arbitrary group of Pokémon, just use this irradiated stone for a power boost,” rather than “when you’re at 50% HP” or “when the sun is bright”), I am a bit less enthusiastic about them. Although in a general sense, I do like that Game Freak were willing to push their own envelope by experimenting with an idea like Mega Evolution.

Just curious: what do you think about Ash-Greninja?

Honestly, if there needs to be some sort of universal form change, it would be better if it were permanent. That's what I liked about Giratina and Kyurem in the first place, it was easier to build a moveset around them because you would exactly know how their stats are. Deoxys is another Pokemon that was able to go about it just fine without needing some temporary form change.
