I've gotta give my love to Omastar: he was part of my original Kanto team, and has great Sp. Attack and has gained new life via Shell Smash.

I love Kabutops, If we had the choice to choose any Pokemon as your starter, It would be Kabutops. He pawns all other fossils.

I've never used any of them on my team, but 1)Aerodactyl's the one I prefer and 2)Lance had one!!! The Dragon Master himself gave this humble pokemon the honor of being on his team. That's gotta mean something.

Kabutops because I used him in my ubers team with great effect. Also he has one of the best sprites ever. Just look at this:
