Paldean Pokémon coming to Pokémon GO from September - World Championships Celebration event running in-game from August 11th to 15th

The Pokémon Presents video presentation today has announced that Pokémon originally from Paldea would be coming to Pokémon GO starting in September. Earlier today, Niantic also announced details regarding the 2023 Pokémon World Championships celebration event being held in Pokémon GO from August 11th, at 10:00am to August 15th, at 8:00pm local time. Passimian, the Teamwork Pokémon, and Shiny Scraggy will all make their Pokémon GO debut as part of this event, alongside a new World Championships 2023-costumed Pikachu.

Apart from the announcement of the Paldea Pokémon, little new information was actually shown in the Pokémon Presents video presentation video presentation relating to Pokémon GO, with much of this content covering already announced events and Pokémon.

2023 World Championships Celebration Event
Event Bonuses and Activities
The following event bonuses will be active during the event:

• The maximum number of sets a Trainer can play per day in the GO Battle League will go up from 5 to 10.
• Pokémon encountered via GO Battle League rewards will have a wider variance of Attack, Defense, and HP.

Timed Research
World Championships–themed Timed Research will be available throughout the event. Players who complete these tasks will receive an Elite Fast TM, and an encounter with a World Championships 2023 Pikachu, amongst other rewards.

Trainers who tune in to the 2023 Pokémon World Championships Pokémon GO Day 1 livestream on Twitch will be able to receive a code to redeem an in-game 2023 Worlds Tee (Yellow) avatar item. The Pokémon GO World Champion will also receive an in-game World Champion 2023 outfit and pose.
