Part 1 of Pokémon GO's Halloween 2022 event to run from October 20th to 27th, features debut of Mega Banette

Niantic has announced details regarding Part 1 of Pokémon GO's Halloween 2022 event, which will be running from October 20th at 10:00am to October 27th at 10:00am local time. As part of this event, Mega Banette will be making their Pokémon GO debut. The game will also be given a Halloween makeover, with PokéStops and Gyms appearing decorated for both parts of the Halloween event, while a remix of the Lavender Town music will play in-game from 6pm to 6am local time daily.

Event Bonuses

• 2× Candy for catching Pokémon.
• 2× Candy for hatching Pokémon.
• 2× Candy for transferring Pokémon.
• Trainers level 31 and above will receive one guaranteed Candy XL when walking with their buddy.

Trainers will also be able to earn Mega Energy for the following Pokémon from completing some Field Research tasks:

Featured attacks
Altered Forme Giratina caught between October 20th at 10:00am and November 1st at 10:00am local time will know the move Shadow Force. This move has 120 power in Trainer Battles, and 140 power in Gyms and Raids.

Timed Research
Paid tickets for Timed Research will also be available during the event:

• Ticket 1 (US$1): Grants access to Timed Research featuring encounters with Yamask and Galarian Yamask.
• Ticket 2 (US$5): Grants access to Timed Research featuring increased Candy bonuses, additional Halloween-themed tasks, and an avatar pose.

Trainers can purchase either one of these tickets, or both. Each ticket features unique Timed Research tasks.

Do note that Timed Research will expire. The tasks associated with Timed Research must be completed and their rewards must be claimed before November 1st at 10:00 a.m. local time. These Timed Research can be purchased and gifted to Pokémon GO friends with a Friendship level of Great Friends or higher.

Special Research
Trainers will be able to claim a Special Research between October 20th at 10:00am and November 1st at 10:00am local time. In this Halloween-themed Special Research, Trainers will assist Professor Willow and Rhi in discovering more about Yamask and Galarian Yamask.

Pose Update and New Avatar Items
During the event, the Spooky Pose found in the in-game shop will be updated to include movement. This update will apply to all future and past purchases of the Spooky Pose.
