They're just extended versions of the Pokémon Sunday clips. Except for some of them, which are entirely different scenes, such as Kibago and Mijumaru.

I really hope Ash does not get that bird.

Its too similar to Starly to me. Here's hoping they can break the pattern and not give Ash yet another generic bird.

:(

Unless Mamepato has a kick-ass evolution, I agree with you. They damn well better give him or Iris a Wooguru.

I agree. The writers haven't made his teams too creative lately. The bird that Ash owned I liked the most was Noctowl, because it was shiny and smaller than the average Noctowl. That's when they were the most creative.

I hope Ash's BW team stands out more, but I hope to goodness he doesn't get yet another Swellow/Staraptor clone.

Staraptor was already redundant.

Hey, just as long as Ash or another Main Characters get Mijumaru, I'll be good. Although I wouldn't mind seeing one of them raise a Gochiruzeru or a Rankurusu.

That would be interesting. Especially Gochi :3

I have to agree with Cascada. I am very excited to see a black character on pokemon.... or for any anime actually... It doesn't happen too often...

Iris isn't black though. Her skin color is pretty much the same as Brock's.

You just know they'll do that. Swellow and Staraptor were sorta lackluster... Especially considering the flying types in gen III. I mean Pelipper/Tropius would have been interesting...

Noctowl was great because of the shinyness, the psychic attacks and the IQ, but before and after that... the bird always felt a bit lackluster.

Pelipper and Tropius would have conflicted with Treecko/Corphish.

Swellow was amazing as it was Ash's first bird battler, but Staraptor came across as, "Meh, did we really need a Swellow clone?"

Forget Tropius, but Ash should have gotten a wingull instead of a Swellow and a Corphish.

Are you serious? What the hell would a Wingull bring to the show better than Ash's best bird and his most comedic Pokemon?

Something that actually sparks my interest... :D

Plus, the "best bird" is still highly debatable.

^ Nah, Swellow and Corphish are two of the most popular Pokemon Ash has ever owned in the series, so I think the writers made the right decision back then.

Ash getting the new BW bird would be beyond repetitive though.

Oh really? In all my time in this forums, you're the first and only one I see who prays those Pokémon that much. Both are liked, yes, but his most popular Pokémon? Come on, man!

I shouldn't be surprised by now, you always pass your personal, biased opinions as the entire fandom's opinion.

Personally, I wouldn't mind Ash getting Memepato. It's a bird, so what? Except that it can fly, it doesn't have to be a Pidgeotto/Noctowl/Swellow/Staraptor clone. Those aren't even clones of aone another. Sure, Swellow and Staraptor evolved the same way, but other than that they had few in common. Then there was Pidgeotto, who was loyal to Ash but still kept some of its wilderness, and finally, there's Noctowl, the peculiar shiny tiny Pokémon who also knows some Psychic attacks. See? None of them are clones, so Ash having Memepato could still be fresh if the writers give it a decent personality. To be honest, this is a staple in Ash's character.

Since when were those Pokemon not incredibly popular? Corphish is considered one of the funniest and most comedic Pokemon Ash ever had in the series. Throughout the entire span AG was airing, it was a fan-favorite in the series.

Swellow gained a massive fanbase because it was Ash's first bird that was actually a battler, and wasn't handled horribly like Pidgeotto or Noctowl were. Swellow did things no other bird has even achieved in the series, although Staraptor did come close, but sadly doesn't have much of a wins streak.

Its not a staple so much that its repetition, such as Ash getting the grass starter. Let's hope they shake things up.

Correction, Swellow and Corphish are some of your favorites not everyone else's.

No matter how much I want to Ash to get Wargle, chances are Ash will capture Mamepato within the first 3 episodes and as long as they give it a distinct personality from Ash's other birds than I'll be fine with it

I found Totodile much funnier than Corphish and even Torkoal had its moments like jumping in the ocean to get Spoink's pearl. Staraptor has better moves than Swellow. Staraptor learned Swellow's best move when it evolved into Staravia

Ash's birds usually don't have much personality, so I don't see much hope there.
