@Acrobatic Crobat Do the basic one Pokémon automatically attack when diagonal from another Pokémon?
The rule you're talking about (if I understood correctly) is in checkers, not chess. Even if you have an opportunity to attack, you don't have to use it if doing so would put you at a disadvantage.

Cool. And the rules say basic pokemon can only attack diagonally so if two end up on the same space does that mean they don't fight?

They can only move diagonally on a tile already ocuppied by an enemy, just like pawns in chess.

You probably can't move with a basic pokémon horizontally/vertically to a space that is already occupied
