Pokémon Community Forums - Welcome to the Community
Earlier this week, The Pokémon Company posted a news update on their official site informing people about their official Pokémon Community Forums. Despite being widely reported as a brand new forum, this forum has actually been in existance for well over a year. Up until now, the forum had been primarily focused on the Pokémon TCG Live Beta, as a place for users to report technical issues and bugs, and a variety of posts dating back to February 24th, 2022 are still visible in the sub-forums for the Pokémon TCG Live.

While it's not clear if this was a factor in The Pokémon Company deciding to make this announcement, the relaunch of the official Pokémon Community Forums came only days after Twitter controversially announced new policies for rate limiting users, and limiting how many tweets can be seen daily by both registered and unregistered users. If this was a factor and the relaunch announcement was made at relatively short notice, it would at least explain why the forums moderation was seemingly so underprepared for the surge of activity from fans over the forums first few days. While the dust appears to now be settling down from the initial burst, the Official Pokémon Community Forums has clearly had a rocky first few days, with a variety of strange and/or just inappropriate threads being posted, as documented by many conent creators and fandom reporters across the internet.

Though many of the most inappropriate threads have now been deleted as of writing, it remains to be seen if these issues have actually been resolved, or if this is only a short term victory for a clearly overwhelmed moderation team. With the forum having practically achieved meme status for the level of chaos seen there in its first days, the moderation staff of the official Pokémon Community Forums may well have an even rockier road ahead of them in the coming weeks and months.
