It's possible that Ash doesn't have a full team.

Be thankful that Ash has Pikachu. Other than that, it would be impossible for him to sweep that island with just a Pikachu

Here’s hoping for Squirtle to return and evolve... It makes sense since it’s the only Kanto Pokemon who isn’t fully evolved/does not want to evolve.

I don’t know if I want to see Charizard return right after its biggest missed opportunity in Kalos.

The probablity of Johto critters appearing is slim at best, and those after that probably have zero chance.

Squirtle and Tauros/Snorlax would be the least intrusive to the Alola team. Kingler and Muk would be rather random after 17 years of no battles.

It would be funny if Quilava evolved again after a hiatus. I'd personally love that as Typhlosion is one of my favourites, and I'm currently bonding with one as my SoulSilver Starter.

We haven't had Typhlosion feature in the anime a lot, excluding brief appearances in M21, the last one was back in Hoenn so would be nice to see one again

Yeah, prior to M21, Typhlosion and Chesnaught shared the title of fully evolved starter with the least amount of appearances.

Probably won't be happening but with Meltan set to appear in the near future, would be nice to see Ash catch one, giving him his first ever Steel type

But my choices are:
Ash getting a Jangmo-o
Torracat evolving into Incineroar
If he doesn't catch any other Pokemon before the League, Bring back:
Noivern, Talonflame. I mean they're native to Alola in USUM so why not bring them back?

I am 85% certain Poipole will return, just like Goodra did, how they do that I don't know yet but anything is possible

Unlike Goodra, Poipole is released since its in the wild, so it cannot even return, since that requires Ash to recapture it and we all know he is not gonna do it.

It also takes away from the episode he leaves in, since Poipole decided to stay with his family, rather than with Ash (Unlike Goodra, since that was a mutual decision).
