I disagree. This is the first gen (well since 1st generation) to have this many Pokemon. If Ash was ever going to catch up to 4 more Pokemon (equalling 10 total Pokemon; Pikachu + nine other Pokemon) than he usually does, this would be the generation to do it. Not some generation that only has 100 options (some which aren't likely to happen for obvious reasons).
im just saying that the chance for extreme repetetivness is high if they cut the number of three steps in half u would still have 9 three steps. and that means nine or more different pokemon
