I think that because Galar isn't the sole focus here that all of Ash's captures are not going to be strictly Galar Pokemon.

Well sure but I don’t think he’ll catch any Pokémon that aren’t from Galar. I think he’ll just train some of his old Pokémon since now would be the perfect series to do that.

This saga might not be a continuity heavy one, so we might not see any of Ash's older Pokemon.

Well since Gou is focusing on the captures, I doubt that

Tbh, its more likely Gou will be the one catching non-Galar mons, since unlike Ash, he needs them.

I don't think that Ash strictly has to catch Galar Pokemon anyways. It isn't the sole focus of the series, so it wouldn't make sense for Ash to catch only Galar Pokemon.

No and honestly he shouldn't. Mew is one of the most powerful Pokemon in terms of the anime and it kinda downplays both it and Mewtwo if Go is allowed to catch it

If anything I see Go getting to meet Mew again at the end of his time on the cast only for Mew to beat him and fly off, leaving Go to continue chasing his dreams as he and Ash part ways

No, but I could see him befriending Mew towards the end of the series (or in a movie)

If Go does end up catching Mew, I don’t see it as bring anything permanent, instead with him ending up releasing it shortly afterwards.

The most I can see is Mew temporarily teaming up with Gou for whatever crisis and leaving.

I'm expecting a wide range of Pokemon caught by Ash and Gou, especially considering that the anime is no longer focusing on solely the newest region, but rather all of them.

I'm looking forward to seeing more variety in terms of regional Pokemon instead of most of them coming from a single region
