Pokémon GO celebrates its 7th Anniversary with a week-long in-game event starting July 6th

Pokémon GO is celebrating its seventh anniversary this week, with a week-long Anniversary Party event starting July 6th at 10:00am, and running through to July 12th at 8:00pm local time. Two new costumed Pokémon will make their debut in this event, with Wartortle and Blastoise wearing a party hat both appearing for the first time. Trainers who have a Squirtle wearing a party hat will be able to use Squirtle Candy to evolve it into its party hat wearing evolutions.

Event Bonuses and Activities
The following bonuses will be active during this event:

• Increased chance of becoming Lucky Friends
• Increased chance of Pokémon becoming Lucky through trades
• Chance of finding 7, 77 (or more) Gimmighoul Coins when a PokéStop is spun with a Golden Lure Module

Trainers who purchase the All-in-One #151 Masterwork Research story (see below), or who previously purchased this Masterwork Research during Pokémon GO Tour: Kanto, will also the following bonuses for the duration of our 7th Anniversary Party event:

• 2× Incense duration
• 2× Daily Adventure Incense duration
• 2× Lure Duration

The following daily bonuses will also be available between 12:00am to 11:59pm local time on the following days.

• July 6th: 2× XP for catching Pokémon
• July 7: 2× Stardust for catching Pokémon
• July 8: 2× Candy for catching Pokémon
• July 9: 1/2 Egg Hatch Distance when Eggs are placed in an Incubator
• July 10: Friendship levels will increase twice as fast
• July 11: 2× Candy for transferring Pokémon
• July 12: 2× XP for evolving Pokémon

The Pokémon GO Web Store will also be offering a special Anniversary Box to Trainers between July 6th and July 10th, containing extra supplies for Trainers to celebrate with. No specific details on exactly what these supplies are was given, nor how much this box will cost.

Squirtle Community Day Classic
As part of the 7th Anniversary celebrations, July's Pokémon GO Community Day Classic event will feature the Tiny Turtle Pokémon, Squirtle, who is #0007 in the Pokédex. During this event, Squirtle, including its Shiny variant, will be appearing more frequently in the wild. The event will be held on July 9th, between 2:00pm and 5:00pm local time. Field Research
Anniversary-themed Field Research tasks will be available as part of this 7th Anniversary event. Completing these Field Research tasks will award Trainers with encounters with various first-partner Pokémon. Select Field Research tasks will award Mega Energy for the following Pokémon:

• Venusaur
• Charizard
• Blastoise
• Sceptile
• Blaziken
• Swampert

Masterwork Research: All-in-One #151
Until July 12th at 8:00pm local time, Trainers can spend $5.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in each local currency) to receive a ticket granting access to this special Masterwork Research story, originally released alongside Pokémon GO Tour: Kanto in 2021. Once purchased, trainers will need to log in during the period of the 7th Anniversary Party event in order to actually receive the Masterwork Research. Once received, Trainers will then have an unlimited amount of time to complete the lengthy story, receiving an encounter with a Shiny Mew once completed. Trainers who purchased a ticket during the original Pokémon GO Tour: Kanto are not eligible to purchase this Masterwork Research story again.

This Masterwork Research cannot be gifted to other Trainers.

Timed Research
Until July 11th, at 8:00pm local time, trainers can spend US$2.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in each local currency) to receive access to event-exclusive Timed Research. When these research tasks are completed, Trainers will receive the following rewards.

• 1× Incubator
• 1× Super Incubator
• 1× Premium Battle Pass
• 1× Lucky Egg
• 1× Rocket Radar
• 1× Star Piece
• 1× Incense
• 77,777 XP
• An encounter with Pikachu wearing a party hat

The tasks associated with this Timed Research must be completed, and their rewards must be claimed, before July 12th, at 8:00pm local time. This Timed Research can also be gifted to any friend with a Friendship level of Great Friends or higher.

Stickers
Trainers will be able to receive event-themed stickers during this event by spinning PokéStops and opening Gifts, These stickers will also be able for Trainers to purchase directly from the in-game shop.

• 7th Anniversary Pants
